View Full Version : Never thought I would buy this for my gun

I have been planning on upgrading my Revy or getting a new hopper. I held a HALO in person and swore that I wouldn't buy one because of the weight. Well, I put one on my Freak Factory Impulse and I bought one that night. My gun didn't have to wait for a ball to fall when I used the vision. The Ricochet did well, but I would have skips everynow and then. With the Low-rise feed tube, the weight is really distributed nicely. I suggest for anyone who is having these problems with their loaders being to slow, I would look at the Halo.
sounds good
I've had problems with ball chopping (i don't have vision) as my revy is just too slow, how much are HALO's, or should i just get a ricochet instead?
any comments will be muchly appreciated

You can get Halos for a little over $100, I would do that if you are planning on getting vision. If you aren't getting vision, then the Ricochet would be just as good. My back player had the Ricochet on his Imp (No Vision) and it worked great.

Two of our back guys run HALOS, and I must say, I'm not impressed. They squeak out a few more bps, but its expensive, big and heavy. Plus is holds less balls than a revvy.
Sure its nice having them dump some more paint to cover my ***, but their guns dont break paint anyway. (Shocker and a matrix, soon to be two matrices. If you want a really kickass shocker setup, pm me)
I dunno, I dont think its worth 110 smackers.
i tried a halo on my angel (and on my friends vision impy with i frame) and i was not impressed. i have it all right here:
1. Way to much money
2. Only hold 140 so you have to wait till your hopper is completly empty to dump a pod
3. The material is very cheap, running 50 i felt like my balls were breaking cause of the noise
4. It jammed alot but i think thats cause the batteries were low
5. A huge ***** to clean
6. Lots of batteries
7. Lid sucks, it doesent close easily and ive had a pod fall out of it cause it wasent fully closed
8. My friends lid broke off cause of the cheap material
9. The neck is very big so you have to sandpapper it to fit some impys and shockers
10. The on/off button is very hard to get on and off.
11. You cant buy shells for it if it breaks
12. Its very loud without paint and sort of loud with paint
13. Looks wierd
14. Its weight is very uneven
On my angel it shoot nice, no skips or chops a little better then my intellifeed. But on my fridns impy i saw no difference from his hopper. I really recemend this type of hopper it is unbeleavably fast it is a 12 volt with a x-board and a vortex implier, which is a 8 pronged paddle that directly sends the balls into the neck. I recemend these way more then a Halo. One good thing about them is to talk bout it: i have a angel with a halo on top

actually, it holds more balls than a Revy. It holds 180 balls. Its Weight isn't uneven with batteries in it, it is all balanced out. I agree with the lid thing, that should be improved. It uses alot of batteries, but you get 20,000 rounds out of it. I would rather sand down the neck than have it too small. On/off button needs to be rethought. The reason I bought it was because I was out shooting my Revy with my vision. This is the only one that will keep up. So I will sacrifice the weight for speed.

about the halo, ive heard rumors that they are very loud. Is this true, or is it just another myth?

Funny, mine holds 200, as does my wife's. She uses 100 pods in her pack (because they're lighter) and it takes 2 to fill her Rev, with a little room left over.
BTW, Skog: about that quote at the end of your sig, that wasn't Kurt Cobain, it's a quote from a Neil Young song.

Uh, no.
A Halo holds less than a revo, a 140 fits it well with just a little room left over for ball movement.
see yall wanna try to say im worng, but im not, and bout the neck it is too big, revvy to small but if you get a 10 ring spacer it fits perfectly, and does any one agree that the material sounds wierd and is crappy? and halo=140 little room and revvy 180= nice room. and yes it is loud

I can fit 180 in my Halo, with plenty of room.
hey count the balls, dont do a pod cause those arent accurate. put it to where the halo's neck is on the ground and out ball after ball untill you see how much it can hold, then tell ma

The feed rate on the Halo is 18bps. I put 180 balls in and it emptied in 10secs even. I wish I could shoot that fast.

Crappy??? How is it crappy? I think that it is made well. It is big, but you have to give up something for the speed of it. I didn't use Diablo Darts. I was using ZAP pro Series.

From the HALOS's I've used (about 6) I was not impressed. I think the hype from this thing being in "testing" for like 6 months made a lot of rumors appear.
Maybe the SP version is better, but the regular ones didnt live up to what everyone expected.
