I now have a job with decent pay, so I can dish out the 50 a week, or every 2 weeks for paint. I had a crap Diablo.. well look in my sig. Needless to say, I need a new marker. Any suggestions? I don't want any high-end, $1200 marker, but something with a name.

Ok, so $60 of that is going towards an eVLution III hopper, or a used Halo B, and $70 more is going towards a 47ci/3,000psi Crossfire HPA tank. So, that leaves you with $170, now what to get?

Well, if you get $10 more, you could get the new VS2 from Spyder. It's a low pressure blowback marker with eyes. It shoots very nice, little kick, pretty quiet, fast, accurate, fairly light, efficent, has great stock parts, easy to maintain, and it's upgradeable, even though it really doesn't need them.

Now you have the Ion for $200. It's also a pretty nice marker, although I don't like it. It has very little kick, very quiet, fast, accurate, about the same performance as the VS2, but it has bad stock parts (trigger, feedneck, barrel, ASA), that don't reveal its true potential.

Now, the VS2 can't get much better than it is stock. You can put on a new barrel for increased accuracy, and a new board for new modes and stuff, but otherwise, it won't get better. The Ion, well the Ion has tons of room for upgrading, where it will get better than the VS2, but out of the box, it comes with bad parts as I have said before, so the VS2 is better out of the box.

These are both really popular markers right now, there's a few others like Wraths, Prostock Autocockers, Trlogy Pro SF Autocockers, ICD Promasters (about $250, and you need to buy a ASA and macroline kit to make it useable as it doesn't come with these parts), and these are all good markers, but not as well known. Plus, I don't know a whole lot about them.

If that's for eveything then i'd look into used ions since you can get good deals on them now. The vs2 is also something to look into as well.

I've made my new budget $500, and I got a 68/30 tank and a new ripped Halo B off of PBN. I'm left with around $300.

Like cockers? You can get a black magic cocker for $250 from ansgear.com.

The one time I did use a cocker, I was constantly short-pulling it, or whatever the term is. I can't imagine walking one seeing how hard it is to pull the trigger. But that was a while ago..

You really can't walk a mechanical Autococker, plus they've improved, and with a really good timed one it will be harder to short stroke. You can walk a Cocker with an electronic frame though.

This Black Magic cocker rips from the videos I've seen. How high maintenance are these things? They look like they could foul up easily.
