In my view i dont really see the point in haveing a bunch of masks. as i see it all masks offer the same saftey whats the dif between a b.e x-vision and a jt eliet x fire(i own) i really dont see much a dif but in style and color but what the main thing is is saftey do all masks offer a lil more extra on the saftey or do some just not come up to par. what i mean to say is if they keep makeing masks dose that mean there is something wrong with the mask they had before that the mask they put out the month before wasnet as safe??? plz explain the dif i know its a newbie question but i dont care it poped into my mind!

By releasing many masks, they make more money. Most of the additional money goes to marketing/hype and cushy extras, like the Proteus' fan and directional hearing.

Different masks offer different coverage areas. Some masks are made of hard plastic, some soft plastic. Soft plastic bounces better than hard plastic. Some masks have larger lenses, offering you more vision, but also a bigger profile. The Proteus isnt all hype, it's a tourney players mask, and it works. Alot of it is looks, why do people make different kinds of shirts, when we can all wear pink tank tops to work/school? Price is a big factor, some companies have used quick remove lenses, to make lense changing easy. Some companies have name brand appeal (JT). Some companies use more extreme looks, for if you want to be the trendsetter of the bunch (Skull). Companies offer different prices. Some masks offer Chin straps and throat guards, some dont. Some maks are designed to fit over glasses, some are much smaller, to reduce profile but dont have room for glasses. And the list goes on and on, see you in the pink tank tops
