Ghetto Paintballing

Is there anyone around here that would consider some part of their appearal/equipment to fit as a form of "ghetto paintballing"?

For instance, instead of using real gloves, you use Home Depot Gardening gloves with a grip (like me :))

When i first started, i had a 12-guage shot gun cleaning rod as my my squegee.

For gloves, 1 racquet ball glove, and 2 whool open fingered glove.

One time I saw a couple kids using empty Gatorade bottles as pods. It was hilarious, they just filled the bottles with paintballs and duck-taped them to their belts. :laugh:

my nieghbor used a welding mask while playing once. i use my four wheeler gloves and they work fine.the owner of a local field bet one of his friends that he wouldnt play in just a jock-strap and a cup, but he did it! you look out on to the field and see a guy with a cocker wearing nothing but a juock-strap and a mask.
it was 45 degrees outside!:eek: the guy got shot right above the belly button and it left a huge welt. the owner gave him 5 FREE cases of proballs after that. :laugh:

One time me and my friends used 2 liter coke bottles for hoppers. We couldn't find hoppers cause we left them at my friends house. I wish we would have gotten pics

I use my mountain biking gloves. I also taped a small kitchen time to my elbow so I can easily see how much time is left befor the horn sounds.

To carry around a pod during a game, my youth pastor used sting, to jury-rig the pod so it would stay at his side and not bounce around. Then he turned to duct tape.

Another guy forgot the elbow for his hopper on his mag, so tried to duct tape it there and use his had to hold it rignt.

Haha, I did that once, I got a pair for free when I worked for that hell hole I called Kragens! Heck, they are nice gloves though, used em on my firebird all the time.

Out at WAP girls play free, my back player worked up a deal with the owners that if he showed up in a dress and full drag and then played all day like that he can play for free. Course they didn't say how many times I could shoot him in the arse before it's considered over shooting.

He's going to do it though, I'll have pics for sure, were going out again on the 23!

When I first got my SL-68 II, my viewloader hopper wouldn't fit and I didn't have a hopper adaptor so I rolled up the cover for my phone book and jammed it in the elbow. It only held like 15 rounds but I used it for like 2 weeks, how's that for ghetto.

when i first started playing, i used these bike gloves that came with my bike helmet, they were padded on the palms, but spandex on the back, which kinda defeats the purpose of wearing gloves....

My friend tried to use a rubber band as a tank o-ring once...

Iv'e used a 20oz coke bottle and duct tape as a hopper and elbow... Man. That. Sucked.

I was out of paint at my field, so i used a squeegee with paint goop on the end to attempt to bunker people... it only worked once, other times i got shot. (gee I never would have thought that would happen...:rolleyes: :laugh: )

This isn't really ghetto but fireinside's story reminded me of this. A couple months ago scottypbmasta and I were out at wap (and other team mates of mine) and we were just playing some rec when some more advanced guys joined the other team. It came down ( I went out trying to bunker two of those guys at the same time, got one!) to him and this other guy snap shooting. Scottie ran out of paint so he picked up a paintball off the ground (I know your not supposed to), ONE paintball, snap shot and gogged the guy!!!

All I have to say was that was one heck of a shot, but I dam* near killed him for shooting a dirty paintball through his KAPP Flame cocker!!!

this next isn't me but, we did this one game. We were playing a 2 president game, They buried their prez under and uprooted tree stump and gave him a small pvc pipe as a snorkel.

one time when i had my flatline i was useing a 500 bag of brass eagle paintballs i found. every shot busted. so i taped of the porting so al the spray would go out the front. I played the hole day with a paint shot gunn with 10 feet of range.

umm i use a old holy sock as a tank cover and coat hanger as a sqeege and some plastic tube for a hopper and the first time i went paintballing the field owners wife made me wear a garbage bag because the coveralls didnt fit

Ok I think I have the ultimate Ghetto Paintballer. He's my friend Josh and he owns no paintball gear of his own. What he does is he comes with me to the field in his raggedy old sweats and he just bums gear off people. He hangs around watching games and when people come off the field he starts talkin to them. He tells them how cool their stuff is and how he wishes he could play but the gear he was going to borrow never showed up so now he has a case of paint and nothing to shoot it with. Eventually some guy will offer to let him use his back-up gun and mask and so Josh get's to play that day. He uses a folded up hand towel as a cup, cut off leather work gloves and the rattiest sweats youve ever seen. But the real kicker is that the back up gun's he gets are usually pretty good. I finally stopped loaning him my old spyder because he kept gettin some other guys cocker, bushy, angel...etc. So now I loan my back up gear to other guys that I'm trying to get into the sport and he just tags along bumming equpment.

It's the truth, he borrowed this guys led angel for a day while the guy shot his lcd. I almost fell over dead when he walked over to me in the staging area with it. The best part is that the guy had left it on three round burst and Josh triggered one walking on the field with the barrel plug in. He had to take it back over to the guy to get help cleaning it out. He just kept apologizing and the guy was pretty cool about it and still let him use if for the rest of the day.

I think every field has its Ghetto Bums. We have two guys that show up almost every week with like 200 paintballs between them. They play the first game and as soon as they are out of paint they start begging, the typical" Hey man you got any paint I can borrow,Hey you got any gun oil,Hey you got a squeegee,Hey you got any anti-fog etc. Most of the guys have caught on to them and give them the big "F U" dude get a job and buy you some paint.
They catch the newbs that dont know any better yet and end up playing most of the day some weekends on free paint. They do not appear to be so poor,they pull in the field in a new model Camaro with high $ wheels and the stereo booming and they both have Spyder Shutters.

this guy took his board out of bushy and tryed to soder it it.but he messed up and it wont fire when u pull the trigger. he has to flip the switch on to off to fire a ball. he sits then and just flips the switch back and forth.:laugh:

I find it very unlikely that he used a welding mask since he would beable to a dam thing, And ghetto stuff I have used are work gloves, and pocket for pod holders.

They're like goggles, but drop down to cover the entire face. Also commonly used when grinding stuff. They look almost the same as a welder's mask.

I wear a tin can over my head with eyes cut out so I can see. It's too dangerous to cut out a mouth hole, so people are pretty used to me having heat stroke on the field or passing out due to the lack of oxygen. I wear a cardboard box around my body since I wasn't born into a family that can afford any clothing. I have big winter mits on for gloves that I found in my house (dumptser). I have rubber boots that I stole from the local fire department. My marker is my hand. I throw the balls. This is what I look like.

sorry to burst your bubble eff but there are alot of differences between them since on is a solid color with a dark lense and the other is a large piece of cleap plastic.

Hmm, we must be thinking of different masks?

The one I saw looked exactly the same, minus the heavily tinted lense (it was only slightly tinted). Other then that, it looked the same as my old one (I've welded a few times, at my Grandparents' house in Michigan).

Ghetto paintball...let's see.

My first time I played, it was woodsball, and I didn't have any pod holders yet and stuff, and I had a Stingray II Ice. I carried my paintballs around on the field in an old Jansport bookbag that I used in elementary school. I also shared a glove with a friend. He had one, and I had the other, and they were Brass Eagle gloves, so they were a little itchy. I had camo pants and a sweater. I still wear camo pants (albeit a larger size), and only a tshirt.

Sometimes when I sleep, I cry b/c I lack the aggness of the 1337 HK kids. :(

first few times I played (way back in 95') I just put the bag of paint in my pocket. I had never heard the of the concept of "pods" or a "harness." Good thing I never fell or got hit on that side. Would have had a messy pocket for sure.
