I've been looking at the fusion for a couple of months now, reading all I can, and looking for all the videos I can find of them, and they sound great, I've pretty well decided to go for a fusion over a PMR, but there is one thing that is concerning me.
On youtube there are a couple of videos about troubled fusion owners having trouble with shoot-down. Now, it seems that it's not a simple case of it because it's been sent to DP and they didn't fix it. Is this a problem I should really worry about if I want to get the Fusion?

Well, several different things can attribute to shoot down, some of which is beyond DP's control. For instance, if a HPA reg needs maintenence, or just performs poorly, shootdown may occur. Some tanks are known to have better recharge rates than others, and some people just don't know how to set dwell and LPRs. I believe the Fusion is easily capable of performing at the legal max of 15 BPS without shootdown, and I also believe many of these cases are the result of something outside DP's control, i.e. poorly performing HPA tanks or the use of LP output tanks, the user tweaking things beyond specifications, trying to get the gun to run on a dwell that is too low, or just set improperly......personally, I'm not too worried, I'll post a review of mine when it gets here in the next week or so.

Other issues are that people don't always screw their air tanks in all the way, or conversely, screw them in too far.

Sometimes, if the ASA has a long pin, or the air valve has a shallow face, screwing the tank in too far (or screwing the on/off knob in too far) can lead to the valve being blocked by the ASA pin and severely restricting the air flow.

It's a problem that often goes unnoticed.

Yeah, the F8s are some of the most gorgeous guns I've ever seen. Possibly the best looking ones out there.
*edit* If my Ion could shoot 15 BPS with no shootdown on its stock reg and an Air America tank, I see no reason why the Fusion shouldn't be able to handle the same task. I wouldn't be worried at all.

I've never had shootdown on my Fusion with a LP Air America tank. But then again I never shoot 25 bps. Even when I did cycle it that fast, I didn't experience any shootdown. And with a high-quality regulator like the stock on the Fusion, your odds of shootdown are even slimmer. Basically, the Fusion has just a good a chance to having shootdown as basically any gun out there.

How is the new Fusion going to work without the LPR?

From what I understand, DP has removed the LPR from the F8. How will velocity adjustments be made?

My guess would be from the HPR with dwell to fine tune....

I wouldn't mess with the dwell, I hardly mess with the LPR. I've only touched it a few times when adjusting velocity, but like other regulated guns the velocity should be adjusted by the HPR.

Those F8's are a very nice piece of work. almost like an ego (interms of the bolt length) but nicer milling. not many specs out for it yet though, unless i've missed a big article on them somewhere.

Yeah, when I saw the pics I was like "oh, hey an Ego that isn't ugly....." (cuz personally I think Egos are ugly guns)....there's a link on PBnation in the DP forums where someone scanned a whole article on it, but that's the most known at this point I believe.
W/E, it's still a HAWT gun.

The fusion can easily shoot at the 25bps mode without shootdown. I have tested it at that setting with a full hopper with 4 different tanks, DXS, WGP Adjustable (output pressure 575-600), PMI and Crossfire HP and I have played multiple games on the 15bps mode. Just make sure you sweetspot your reg (225-260) and have your LPR adjusted right and you will be fine.

Do you guys think the F8 will be around the same price as the first Fusion when it came out?

I don't know, it might be a bit more because of all the milling (+ RAPS), but it might be closer to the original due to the fact it has no LPR (idk if that make a difference or not, i'm just assuming)

Its going to be about $100 more than the original Fusion, so anywhere from $450 to $475. It does look really nice, but performance over the original Fusion doesn't seem to be huge.
