i was recently at my friends house and was looking at his paintball gun when i noticed he taped all the little holes in his barrel shut. i asked him why he said he taped them shut. he said that with the holes closed its builds up pressure inside the barrel when it is being shot, causing a paintball to travel further and have better accuracy.would you believe this is good advice, and would it be a good idea to do this to my stock a-5 barrel:confused:

That's twice I've accidentally reloaded the page after nearly finishing my response....grrr.
No, it will not be more accurate. It MAY be slightly more efficient meaning at the most, a dozen extra shots or so per fill.
Try it if you'd like with your stock barrel, just be prepared for underwhelming results and some glances towards your gun at the field.

closing off the porting will make it much louder and yes, just a tad more efficient but i doubt you'll notice.

Porting is all about personal preferance. Personally I would hate the look of tape on my barrel, its going to make you look noobish and you're not going to get a noticable increase in your number of shots per tank. You would be better off either buying a 12oz backup tank or upgrading to HPA (or a bigger HPA tank)
