Hey guys,
I have been considering making an aftermarket, Delrin trigger for the Fusion. I have been talking to one owner who mentioned that there are not many aftermarket parts for the Fusion, and he may be interested in a trigger. My plan is to make the trigger to customer specifications and design. So if you want a wave trigger, that is what you will get. If you want a blade style, that will be done. And so on. My first question: How many of you would be interested in a delrin trigger for your Fusion? I have not finalized the cost, but it will probably be ~$20 including shipping, with about a 3-4 week turn around time, since they will be made to order.
Note: I was planning on making my first trigger for myself tomorrow evening, then the thought occurred to me to expand and make them for others, especially after seeing that the cost of some triggers out there is $50. I will update this thread on Wednesday night (19 Sep) after I get at least my own personal trigger complete. I would like to have a couple of triggers to show of different design and the compatibility with different guns. If I cannot get the specifications for the Fusion trigger, I could always make a Proto Matrix 5 trigger, or Ego Trigger instead. I have those 2 triggers currently available to me.
Thanks for the input,

I for one would be interested in this.

I was able to get my Race trigger and a Proto matrix 5 trigger "done". They both need a bit a touch up, along with set screw holsdrilled and trigger spring holes drilled. I was also planning on going over the edges with some fine grit sandpaper to eliminate the small burrs, and try and reduce the look of the tool marks.
Please let me know what you think, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Also, I have received a response from DP, and they are willing to send me the trigger specs. After I get those, I will get at least one trigger done.
PM5 triggers are on the Left, and Race frame triggers are on the right.

What other styles would you guys like to see me try out? I was thinking about trying a Wave style made to fit an 06 Ego.
Thanks for any input.

Those are nice triggers for the Ion, and my personal favorites. The triggers you made in the picture look cheap and not well done, but those are the first so I don't expect much. Theres actually 3 triggers available for the Fusion, the stock one, the stock LE one, and the Hyper Trigger.

Its definitely something I would consider buying, but that would have to be after tests have been done and its available in blue. I have DP's number, I'll PM you with it.

babustos - As stated, they are not 100% complete. I will get some new pictures up once they are.
Where would you like to see improvement? What would you say is lacking, and in what way do you think they "look cheap"?
Those 3 trigger designs are certainly do-able. I was going to try a wave trigger like the Hyper trigger.
I did not consider going into colored triggers, but if there are enough people that want them, I could always go for that. I have been looking around and finding Blue Delrin is not easy, so I may end up using acrylic instead.
Thanks for the input. Please keep it coming!

they're ok, they need to be fine-tuned, sanded and polished, other than that, they're pretty good.

Maybe because these are not the final versions obviously...I am sure once he tidies them up, they will look a lot better.

Well those are obviously the first, so I can't expect much. But like said, they need to be sanded, polished, and fine tuned. Plus they look a little thick, I prefer slimmer triggers.
Those 3 trigger designs are certainly do-able. I was going to try a wave trigger like the Hyper trigger.
I prefer a smaller wave, more like the CP sling, and not such a big wave like the Hyper.
I did not consider going into colored triggers, but if there are enough people that want them, I could always go for that. I have been looking around and finding Blue Delrin is not easy, so I may end up using acrylic instead. Colored triggers will definitely bring people's attention. If you want to get some stuff sold, having colors is a definite plus.

I should be able to finalize the 2 triggers posted next Wednesday. Also, I got in contact with DP, and they are sending me a trigger to use as a template for one of my own. That should be arriving this Thursday, so next week I will be able to make a Fusion trigger as well. I am still debating going forward with an Ego6 trigger, but I think I will to get another design on the table.
Next week in finalization I plan on thinning out both triggers (as mentioned by babustos), as well as going over them both with some fine grit sand paper. I will pretty them up as much as possible before posting new pictures. Stay tuned. :D
What other designs would like to be seen? I will do a wave style at least. If there are other suggestions, post them up and I will see what I can do.
I just want to assure everyone that what you currently see is a very 1st draft. These are not finished and still have work to go. I was looking for constructive criticism to keep the project moving.
Once I really start getting up and rolling, I will be posting in General Talk. At that time, if interest is there for colored triggers, then I will move in the direction towards them as well.
Quick Side note: My triggers will include the set-screws for adjustments. But I plan on standardizing all of them to the same size. I am looking at a couple of different thread sizes, and once I decide, I will let everyone know.

Quick Update:
I have received the trigger from DP. It definatly is an interesting design since there are not holes drilled for adjustment screws or a trigger spring. So that will certainly make things easier.
However, I will be moving soon, and for a week or 2 I will have to stay with my aunt, so I do not think I will be able to get any work done on triggers for the next couple weeks. Once I get what I have finalized, I will post up more pictures.
What styles would you guys like to see for the Fusion Trigger? I already got a suggestion of a Wave type. But let me know what else would be good. Thanks!! :D

A vintage Kiss tongue trigger.
Can you provide a picture of one? I am not familiar as to what that looks like.
Thanks.

lol. I did not realize that you were talking about that KISS. I thought there was another trigger design that i was not aware of. But I guess I can give it a try. I guess it would be a possibility. It would look kind of like a reverse Wave, while getting thinner as it gets to the bottom.

Yeah, with the Kiss logo on one side and the crease of the tongue in the middle, or maybe I'm just getting a little picky.

Yes, you are getting too picky. :P
But if you would like me to go for a reverse wave style, I can give it a go. I will figure them all out later.

have you considered doing intimidator or promaster triggers?
and i would like to see a straight pointy slant 'stick trigger' kind of like a CP trigger but more straight and diagonal..with little to not curve..and pointy..yeah..somewhat thin too..that would be a fun trigger for the ion, timmy or promaster, or any gun for that matter..

I can imagine the trigger you're picturing looking like the stock trigger on the R3.

I am always welcome to suggestions, and if a trigger is requested, (once I get up and running) I can certainly make it happen.
The only issues I have right now with Timmy/promaster triggers is I do not have the specs or a trigger to work off of. If I can get one or the other, I can certainly make a run of one.
Unfortunately, due to moving, I will not be able to get back to making triggers until November comes. :(
