If you are buying your MINI new, then theres no need to worry about getting an old board, or poppet.
The problems associated with the older stuff have been ironed out with the newer guns.

If youre getting a MINI second hand, theres still no reason to lose any sleep, cause theres alot of original boards and poppets out there working just fine.
The recognized problems were on a limited basis.

When you get your gun, remove the front grip frame cover and check the main board.
It will be marked like the one in this photo...top middle of the pic.:

As for the poppet...all the associated problems stemmed from an ill-milled exhaust hole in the stem/neck of the poppet...it was too small.
This caused some crazy blow-back issues, and a resulting MESS to clean up inside the attached hopper.
Rather than going out and buying a micrometer...those things just LOOK confusing...you can try the "2 ball test" on your new MINI.

Once youve familiarized yourself with your new gun...read and understood the manual...disassembled it, and made sure that all necessry parts are properly greased and lubricated...then it will be time to fire that mutha up!

Attach the tank, and turn the gun on, with the eyes OFF.
All should be quiet, no leaks heard.
Drop 2 balls into the feedneck (no hopper) and fire the gun ONE TIME.
Take note as to what that second ball does.
Did it just simply jostle around in the feedneck, or did it sail skyward anywhere from 6 inches to six feet??

Try this experiment numerous times to get an overall result.

If the second ball does not launch into the air, then your poppet is OK.

Any problems with the gun can be solved by calling KEE, or their repair center, Paintball Solutions.
Remain in touch on this forum...theres alot of good people here that can walk you through any dilemas that you may be faced with.

Rather than a link to the manual, heres a more informative link that youll find helpful:

In case the picture isn't showing up for you, you can see the text written in white along the edge of the circuit board that is closest to the front grip cover. I think it says something like "Optima 1.2"... I'll confirm when I get home.
