i am thinking of putting a reg on my 98c. Will this reg work with my 98c?

If this doesnt work, any recommendations for regs? (other than a PPS Stab)

i think it would work nicely, has the ability to go to 750PSI. should be plenty to operate a tippmann. Only thing needed to make it work is a veritical adaptor.

POSSIBLY.... you may have an issue with Low velocities (since it will only go to 750psi, and tippys normally run at 800-850psi)

have you done any mods to the tippy?

no internal mods has a HPA tank and stuff, watch the vid in my sig and it has all the specs

ill probably polish the internals when i get the reg tho

well what are u trying to get out of this? more shots? better constiancy over the chrono?

both of those

if you DO get this, look into getting a RVA (since you may need to increase the dwell time to get the same velocity at a lower pressure)

Your 98C should run fine at 750psi. If you're having a problem reaching a high enough velocity, you can always do the bb in the endcap trick to increase spring pressure, or you could pop for an RVA like Noely said.

The 98 style valve is pretty high flow and should be running most of the time with the FVA screwed in most of the way. If you back that screw out all the way, you should be able to drop the pressure down to ~600psi. I wouldn't worry about 750psi not being enough. The Hybrid is a good reg. Pick one up and be happy.

what do u guys think would look better? the sparta reg on my 98c or the palmer stab on my 98c?

quick question... for the long run, are you keeping this is mind? these are expensive regs... and it will help with consistancy, but it will still be an inline blowback that isnt THAT consistant to start with...

I vote Palmer's stabby....

I've got a PPS Stabilizer and HPA my A-5 and it gets great consistency. I get +/- 2.5fps (5fps range) over the chrono. I'd say that's pretty acceptable.

yea, i figure the sparta reg will give me a 5 fps range over the chrono. Im pretty stuck with upgrading my tippy even if it doesnt make any sense at all.

and when i do get this reg, how do i go about chronoing it and stuff? do i back out the FVA all the way then turn up the pressure until i hit 280fps and just use the reg to adjust the fps from then on?

5fps range is VERY acceptable... no doubt about it, but how much did you put into it?

i dont want to seem like im bashing, because im def. not... i own a bunch of tippmanns, and i did the same thing you guys are doing...

but in the end, it wont compare with something as simple as an ion... (i know this is off topic, but im just ranting a little so you can see where im coming from)

also, would you get me a vid of shooting 10 shots over the chrono (to corrupted) so we can see how consistant it is?

Quiet, you.

To be honest, I really don't want to know. More that I paid for the marker, that's for sure.

I don't bring a camera to the field 'cuz I'm worried about it getting lifted while I'm playing a game. But I can try and borrow a hand held chrono from a teammate. He's got an X-Radar chrono that he doesn't use much unless we're playing Outlaw.

lol, its ok... i have a 98 that i currently have around 300 INTO it... although i got the gun for 25 bucks... and im still adding up stuff to put on it (just as a project gun...)

its so weird how a tippmann can make you spend money that makes absolutely no sense to anyone but yourself

Tell me about it...

Like "Hey, I've never played a night game, but this tac-light would make a great addition to the side of my marker. Despite the fact that it will make my marker front heavy, partially block my view down the barrel, and the control wire will mess with the ergonomics of my grip."
