i have a 98c pro with a e trigger and a cyclone. ive been having this problem where the sear and the bolt has beed wearing really baddly to the point where i start to double shoot, or go to full auto with pulling the trigger and letting it go once real quick, and the only way to stop the fireing is to hold the bolt when it returns, a pro shop told me that its the sear and the bolt thats bad so i bought a new one cuz the sear wasnt locking the bolt and apparently slipping off of the bolt. and now recently in like 3 days of playing (3 weeks i really only play on saturdays) i notice my gun start to double shoot every once in a while so i was wondering if there was any way to prevent or to slow down the wear cuz to me it sounds like its wearing to fast. ohh and also i oil my gun before play and after play by taking it appart and oiling the parts that move, and not sure if this makes a difference i use hpa instead of co2.
p.s. i was also thinking of buying a new tippmann so i was wondering if the a5 and the x7 has the same problem for a future refrence. thanks

Both the A-5 and the X-7 operate on the same bolt-sear interaction as your 98. A sear won't wear out that quickly under normal circumstances. That being said, did you replace the hammer when you replaced the sear? If not, the hammer could be rounded out where it meets the sear. This could cause a sear to wear much quicker than it would if it had a matchingly worn hammer. You have two options if this is the case: replace it or carefully grind it until it's nice and square again. Also, it'll probably be a good idea to make sure you've got the right sear. The one for the E-trigger will have a circular pivot hole, not an oval one. If yours is oval, it's the standard sear and doesn't belong in there with the E-trigger.
If you replaced the hammer (or didn't replace it, but it doesn't seem to be rounded off) then it could be the trigger slider. I had a hell of a time diagnosing a problem with my friend's Custom Pro that was double firing. We replaced the sear, hammer, drive springs, and all kinds of stuff in the effort to make it fire correctly. In the end, it wasn't the interaction between the sear and the hammer; it was the interaction between the sear, and the spring loaded metal slider attached to the trigger. Now, as you've got and E-trigger, it shouldn't be there. If it is, take it out by pushing the pins holding it on through the trigger sideways.

I think when he says, he replaced the bolt he means the Hammer/Rear Bolt, just because it wouldn't make much sense to replace the front bolt. I didn't know that there was a different sear for the e trigger until I read Corrupted's post, (or if I did I forgot) but that sounds very possible if you just got a stock replacement sear. I'd also make sure the sear spring isn't weakened. Isn't there a stronger spring that comes with the e trigger? Might want to make sure you have that, if there even is one, I'm not sure.

... Isn't there a stronger spring that comes with the e-trigger?...
I don't believe so, at least not to my knowledge. If it was an A-5, I'd tell him to swap the sear spring and the tombstone latch spring, since they are the same spring. But alas, it's not an A-5.
