If you have metal pieces inside the cyclone, such as the Vortex mod or Jet Click, then yes. These parts need to be greased and white lithium will do this job with perfect adequacy.

However, if you do not have metal parts (ie: the stock plastic pieces), then marker oil is all that is needed.

About as often as you oil/clean the marker.

I prefer the Smart Parts SL33k lube. Its basically repackaged DOW-33 which is exactly what you should be using (this is why so many lubes are repackaged DOW-33, like the Sleek, Shocker Lube, Evil Puss, stock "Dye" & "Proto" lube, etc.). I pick the SL33K, however, because its the cheapest out of all the major brand DOW-33 based lubes (from what I've found anyway).

ANY of the DOW-33 based lubes will work just fine however.
