View Full Version : Paintball onTV
Wouldn't it be awesome it we could see paintball on ESPN or other networks. They could cover large tournaments like the Pan Am or the World Cup. If you feel like I do check out MissionESPN.com. They are devoted to getting paintball on ESPN and all you have to do is type your name and they will send a pre-set email for you. So if you are tired of seeing Lumberjack contests on ESPN (they show these things all the time)then let these people know.

OK i sent the quick email thing, i doubt ESPN will ever air PaintBall though. But we can always hope.
It says something about FOX sports considering putting it on. They have all kinds of extreme sports and I think they might consider it. They have snowboarding on all the time and paintball is more popular then that so maybe it could happen

i remember before i was into paintball seeing a turney on TV. It was like five years ago. I guess it didn't get good ratings so they didn't do it again. It was unorganized and there was no anouncer telling what was going on. so it was confusing who was winning. The cool part though was that the commercials were all paintball products. I really hope that fox or espn will start covering turnaments. Piantball is way more popular then most things they show like skateboarding on a half-pipe. How many people actually do that?

Not many people do skateboard like that, but many, many people get a kick out of watching a guy do a 720. I know I do.

Ramp skating is very popular amongst spectators. I street skate, but have never taken the time to learn ramp. I don't even like to watch it. I prefer to watch street. I like to watch Rodney Mullen cross breed tricks. He's the only skater who can do it successfully. Paintball on tv would be a blast. I love to watch as well as play. You can learn new things watching and I also think it's entertaining when the game starts and all markers are popping. The players running for their bunkers. Sometimes it can get drawn out, but it does closely resemble a game of chess, so you can't be too picky when watching paint. These guys are competing for some phat prizes and a lot of money.

Fox sports is looking for a team to profile at the Spyder Cup in May ... info in current issue of APG, or maybe it's Paintball Sports International. Also, Splatter Factor is gearing up for release in the next 12 months along with another program that will be produced by the APL. Looks like this sport is really taking off.
It says in APG that paintball is the 4th largest extreme sport in america which surpasses snowboarding in rankings. I'm not just making that up. Also i always stop and look at fox sports south when im channel surfing. 2 afternoons in a row they showed snowboarding and skateboarding. Paintball is a 3 million dollar industry and deserves some airtime.

I think you mis-typed, paintball is a $3 billion industry ... 6 million players in 60 countries ... and it's only gonna get bigger this year and next. Expect bigger marketing pushes.

when it aried on espn2 last time i heard about it afterward. that might be the problem. if its going to get the ratings it deserves there needs to be more buzz about it before hand to get people to watch it.
