Mine works great with LP.
And when you find the perfect paint barrel match it will shoot dead nut,s straight!!!

I've got a Freak and it works well on a LP Spyder. I've also got an Impulse which runs a MUCH lower pressure than an Intimidator... you'll be fine. You'll never have to worry about paint sizes again.

By "MUCH" lower pressure do you mean what? 30psi?

Back to the topic of barrels without trying to brag how LP our guns are (because it's better, really) I run an LP intimidator and the freak works just fine man

So then there in general the more porting on a barrel the worse it for lp is false

Well, porting and step boring (step boring is when the first half is one diameter, and the second half is a larger diameter) are both technically not as good for Low Pressure markers. Once you hit either the porting or the step bore you'll really not be able to accelerate the ball much further so you'll lose a bit of efficiency. However, almost all barrels on the market are step bored, and even more are ported more than halfway down so most people aren't getting optimum efficiency from their guns. However it's really not that big a loss, and unless you're trying to squeeze every single last shot from your tank, it won't matter much.

if trying to go as LP as you can the freak or any ported barrel for that matter is not the barrel to use. you should use a barrel that for about 6" is non-steped and non-ported and the last 3" is a ported muzzle brake. so its a total of 9" long.

if it had a full 6" insert to match the paint, it would be the optimum LP barrel.

if anyone ever finds a barrel like that, let me know ill buy it.

as far as porting gos, most of it is all hype.

OK, here we go, stay with me.

if you use a marker set at 250psi at 285fps with a non-ported barrel,

and the same marker set at 250psi with a ported barrel, yes the ported barrel will be quieter, but youll only be at about 250-255fps.

once you turn your reg. up to get back to 285fps, not only can you not tell the difference in noise level, but your using more air. to do it.

WOW! did i write all that? i must be bored. lol

Are you sure that porting will make that much of a difference in ball velocity?

Not really

try it, and see. most of it depends on how soon the porting starts and how much porting there is on the barrel. if there's alot of porting that starts 6" down the barrel you might as well be using a 6" barrel.
