I try to take really good care of my A5, so I keep it oiled and clean.

I've polished the internals, but I still have trouble sliding out the power tube assembly (the thing the tombstone goes into).

I always end up hitting the pin with the hammer which messes up the spring/washer/oring where the tombstone goes in.

Does anyone have this problem to? What can I do to make it easier to get in and out?

Thanks.

When you're pushing the powertube back in, leave the grip off. Initially, just use a screwdriver to push on the back of the valve. Once it's in a little ways, you can turn the gun over and use a screwdriver and the hole in the powertube that the tombstone goes in to shove it in a little farther. After that, you can use the rear of the powertube to shove it in the rest of the way.

If you still find it difficult, you can always loosen the body screw. That will reduce the friction by a huge deal.

Thanks.Lube.

shove it down the hole as hard as u can.Lube. Minimizes the chance of an accient.

That will reduce the friction by a huge deal.So will Lube.

So I should lube the powertube assembly with oil? (I'm using Hoppe's)

I alright lube the orings on the hammer and front bolt, but I guess I'll try lubing the power tube.

Thanks.

Try using a lithium grease such as "DOW 33", Smart Parts "SL33K", Shocker Lube, Evil Puss, etc.

Coat the power tube assembly with it before inserting it into the marker, then remove and repeat. That should help quite a bit because the grease stays instead of running to the lowest area. You need to be using this stuff to lube your Cyclone assembly anyway, so pick some up already!

**DISCLAIMER!**

This should in no way replace lubing your A5 with oil. Markers like the PMR, Mini, DM/PM, Angels, etc only use the grease, but those are a different animal. the Tippmann markers REQUIRE you to use OIL. 4-5 drops into the ASA, followed by 5-6 dry fire shots (WITHOUT THE BARREL ON!) will take care of this 95% of the time. After HARD use, you should strip your marker down and lube all the o-rings individually. This is a good time to use the lithium grease as well because it will stay with your o-rings much longer then oil.

I've never had to lube a powertube to get it in or out, and I've take apart dozens of A-5s.
