First things first, and without wanting to state the obvious, try a fresh battery. Make sure it's a quality alkaline or lithium battery (Energizer/Duracell), not some dollar store, no name brand. Battery performance can differ hugely from brand to brand, and the boards are generally designed with high-end batteries in mind. Very occasionally, batteries are faulty, so even if you are using a fresh battery, try a different one.
Make sure that you have good air flow through the marker. Strip, clean and lubbricate the regulators, and strip, clean and lube the ram shaft. Might want to replace the ram shaft o-ring while you are at it.
Clean the eyes and the trigger sensor, and ensure that the trigger is adjusted to break the trigger sensors beam before the trigger stops moving.
Make sure that the wires are all plugged in to the board securely, and that none of them are loose.
If all else fails, try actuating the solenoid manually (with the orange button) and see if it fires every time. If not, it suggests you have an issue with the board or the solenoid.

I had the same problem, checked everything and eventually decided that the board's sensor had to be replaced. Got a new board in a day since DP is only a city or two over.

Though the thread is old, I'll post since DP forum is slow.

If the solenoid actually clicked, then it wouldn't be the sensor's problem. The sensor is seeing everything just fine, and the click proves it. It would have to be the wiring or the solenoid itself.
