I recently bought this barrel used, under the impression that it was in "mint" and "brand-new" condition. I dropped $80 on this puppy! These photos of the barrel are right out of the box...so I want you to decide its condition. Let me know your POV~

I'd say fair. The scratches on the stainless part can be buffed out, but the annodizing you'll just have to deal with

the outside dosen't matter its the inside that counts.

Exactly, it's not what it looks, it's how it will shoot.

yeah but if i were told it was in mint/brand new condition, i would expect it to be that way (NO dings/scratches of any sort). i think that he should've mentioned the scratches and dings, that sucks. im sure it will still shoot great though . . .

Well...what really bugs me is that the barrel is out of canter. When you roll it on a table, you can see that the two sections are just a little off. I haven't been able to shoot it yet, so I don't really know.

I know that it really only matters how it shoots, but on the same tolken, I bought it under the impression that it was in fact practically new. I have alot of money invested into my gun to make it functionally awesome, and to make it very pretty. I know anybody in here does the same thing (i.e. custom annodizing, splash kits...etc.). I take care of what I own and pay good money for, and for that reason, my gun does indeed look as though it is mint.

To the mods; is there anything I can do? The guy from whom I bought the barrel was extremely rude, and refused to refund me. I am stuck with an $80 fair condition barrel.

you can touch up those dings. it's kinda ghetto but just take a fine tip sharpie and color over where it's silver. at first it looks purple, but after 20 minutes it dries and you can't tell.

it's all aesthetics anyways, i'd be pissed if somebody told me i was getting a mint barrel, and i got that

Well...now that I am stuck with the barrel, I have three options.

A. Use the barrel as is...maybe touch it up as simon suggested.
B. Polish the annodizing off, making a all silver barrel (my whole gun is black though...)
C. Sell it as is, and hope to make something back from it.

Ho hum...

try to turn a profit and buy a Equation MS:D

A profit? That would involve me screwing somebody else for the cash. I have a moral objection to that...so If I do sell it, people will know exactly what they are getting.

My boomstick isn't as bad on the black part, but it does have the same wear, and tear on the stainless..... It just seems like it happens. I take great care of my equipment, and mine has a few scratches as well, but like the other guy said. You can buff that out.

you wouldnt be screwing the customer over if it performs just as well as a regular boomy. if it was defective in some way, like scratches all along the inside, i would not sell it. from the pictures it just looks like its a little scuffed on the outside. nothing to impair its overall performance. so sell it if ur unhappy with it.

Hah, wow... and I thought I got kinda ripped with my 12" Boomy on eBay for $85 (hehe, you were so jealous :) ). Borrow a tank from someone and try it. Oh yeah, and does the inside look ok? Mine looks good on the outside, but the inside has a number of scratches :( .
