Hi. I'm new to the forum and I just started playing paintball. I have looked at so many different guns and I don't know what I should get. Heres the info you guys need to know:

I have ~$200 to spend on the marker, hopper, etc
I will be playing mostly woodsball
I don't mind buying a used marker (except ebay)
I will probably only be going once a month

Some of the guns I have been looking at are the Spyder VS1, MR1, and smart parts vibe, but i am open to suggestions.
I read somewhere that a older WGP super stock is good. Anyone know where I can find one?

Also, is it worth it for me to save up a little more dough and buy a Tippmann A5?

I would appreciate any advice

Thanx

Piranha EVO-$120
48/3000-$50
VL Revolution-$30

That is a very sufficient setup.

another question is... do you have a mask?

I still have the mask that I got with a rental package last time I went, but it is a very cheap mask that fogs up a LOT. I would like to get a new one.

wait you kept a rental mask? you know you are supposed to return those as well...

anyway, if that is all you have for a setup right now, i would go as cheap as possible on a few things. 1st off, a spyder victor. its simple, cheap, and pretty reliable. itll come in at around $60 bucks new.since you are using that, you can also use co2. 20 oz tanks can be had for under 20 bucks new, and a lot of sporting goods stores can fill them, unlike hpa. you need a loader, and im going to suggest a minimum of an Viewloader force. it will feed faster than you will need, and come at a fair price of 30-40 bucks.so there, youve spent 110 out of 200, but you still need a mask. but hey, youve got 90 bucks, more than enough to pick up a top quality mask, like profilers, grillz, events, i3, flex8, etc. plus, most of these are under 80 bucks, so youll still have 10+ bucks left for a coke and a reeses.

At the place where I play, they let you keep the rental masks. I dunno why.

Also, I will enjoy my coke and reeses. Thanx a bunch

I agree w/ Grim go cheap on everything but the mask. A mech spyder like the victor or sonix will be fine for you, throw in a 20oz. and either a force or revi loader and you're set for a basic setup leavening you enough cash to get nice mask. I'd suggest making a vist to you're local proshop if you have one or ask to try some masks from other player next time you play. Get a mask that fits you the best is something you can keep on for hours and it still feel comfortable. Definitely make sure it's a thermal lens and look out for masks w/ a quick lens change feature, it can make life a little easier.
