Hey everyone..well yea im a newbie and i was wondering..I see different types of nitro tanks .. some with carbon fiber some just plain steel and also i see different PSI for each...theres so many to choose from..whats the different kinds and whats the difference?..and whats this about having your tank inspected after 2 years...is this also applicable to CO2 tanks as well? thanks!
I guess the only difference is the design of the output for screwing it in the gun. Hydrastatic testing its called I believe, you get it test to make sure that it will still safely contain the pressure it was designed for. Its not nessasary for CO2 cuz its not at a high pressure like HPA. This is what I think so correct me if Im wrong.

there are many different types of high pressure tanks, and they come in the form of Steel or Fiber Wrapped tanks. The Fiber tanks are a hella lot lighter then the stell, however not nearly as durable. they come in the most common forms 3000psi, or 4500psi. as for the other numbers like 68ci, 88ci, etc. Think of it like sizes. 68ci 3000psi: This tank holds 3000psi of air pressure within 68 cubic inches of space. Yes there are a lot of different kinds of tanks to choose from. That is a deeper question then you think. It's like buying shoes, so many different kinds, what do you want?
hydrostatic testing for high pressure air systems is mandatory by the DOT, it's the law! And it applies to both Co2 tanks, and high pressure air systems. Co2 tanks only need to be hydro'd 5 years from date, while a select few fiber wrapped HPA tanks have a 5 year hydro date (Luxfer cylinders made under exemption DOT-E 10915, and Carlton cylinders made under exemption E-11194), and some fiber tanks have a 3-year date (all other tanks not made under the previous exemptions). Steel HPA tanks need to be hydro'd every 5-years.
