I have a tippmann 98 custom, I have put a new barrel (J&J ceramic) on it, along with and a double trigger, expansion chamber and drop forward. I pay woodsball. What else could i do to make this gun better for playing in the woods with?
(would a different gun like a smartparts Sp-1 be better)

thanks

Are you looking for performance, or looks? I would suggest getting a high ressure air tank, and maybe an e-grip, or response trigger for fire power upgrades, if you think you need them.

RT or egrip but your set up is towards co2 so i would go with RT

RT for sure. Its reliable and 15bps. maybe HPA later.

but later if you get HPA may want to switch out the xchamber for a reg

Say I wanted to switch to compressed air what mods would I have to do?

Nothing, just make sure its a high pressure tank, and not a low pressure tank. Usually the description of the tank will tell you if its high or low.

all you need is a high pressure tank

I got the opportunity to shoot the SP-1 at a recent Scenario. I must say, I've never shot a less satisfying gun. I suppose it's not really a bad gun, cuz it seems to do an okay job of getting paint where you want it. It's just the most boring experience I've ever had on the field. The best way I can describe it is that it had no soul. Going to this gun after shooting a Cocker or R/T Tippmann is like going from listening to a live steel drum jam session to that sound your car makes when the belts start slipping.

lol guns are fun when they have some giddy up in them

i would say to make sure you either have an electric hopper or add a cyclone. just do the pen spring mod to the trigger. i say to keep the gun tight and maybe down the road get a sabalizer instead of a expation chamber, HPA tanks are expencive but if you can get one then get one other wise just make sure you have about 3 20oz CO2 bottles and carrp a spare 9oz on the feild if you think you might run out.

I think getting the e-trigger would help me out alot. I need something that can lay down a good amount of paint when i am exposed to other players.
Also, about the HPA what is a good tank? I need something that give me a good amount of shots.

i like my flatline for woods, there is less lobing around branches and bushes.

Which is the only advantage it offers. Granted, sometimes that effect is very very useful, but the loss of accuracy is something I can't justify.

Now, if you want the best of both worlds, you might want to look into putting an Apex tip on the barrel of your choice. This is advantageous, because you can have the accuracy of the barrel you're used to, then turn the Apex on and get either that flat branch-skimming trajectory or really reach out and touch someone (granted, at extreme distance, you're basically just providing cover fire).

corrupted i did the same thing, tryed my friends ion and it has no thrust of power, liek you said no soul like my rt tippmann, "where you can fell the pain you give to others."

EDIT how much does a n apex tip cost?

Exactly the same as an Apex barrel. Because you need to buy a whole barrel and take the tip off.
