My budget is: around 200 for the gun

I already have: nothing
I play mainly: woodsball

what I'm looking for in my gun is an easy to maintain low maintnence gun, I'm also looking for a gun that I hopefully wont have to upgrade alot other than the comman upgrades. The guns I've been looking at are the 98c(and theres so many variations of this gun and I have no idea which one is the best one for woodsball or even the best one over all), smarts parts, ion, and the spyder vs1. but I'm not set on these gun so feel free to suggest guns that are great for woodsball and are in my price range. My playing style is more of a play up close style and lay low and wait for my shoot or up close and agressive.
I am open to the possiblity of a used marker:yes)<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I'm going to say get the vibe or sp1, they're a lot better then the 98 and about the same price. They're electro pneumatic and have a very nice feel, has a reg, magnetic trigger, clamping feenecks, can use CO2, and they're very soft on paint. Make sure though you have the money for a good mask as well, having a good gun but a crappy mask can ruin you're day pretty fast. If getting a nice mask means downgrading or waiting a little to get your gun then do it. You'll also need a pod pack and pods, a CO2 tank (or HPA if you have the money), and a decent loader.

My only issue with the vibe is that I'm worried that I'll out grow it and in a years time or so I will have wished that I had bought a better gun. Also would I be able to buy a stock for these guns? Thanks

In you're budget range you'll have a good chance of "out growing" anything thing that can use CO2. If you can afford a nice HPA tank then that opens up the ion and promaster but if you can't get an HPA tank then that kinda narrows it down some. While you can use CO2 on the ion if the tank has been anti-siphoned it's still not the best idea. The vibe and sp1 will have new boards and eyes coming out soon so you could get rid of the 11bps caps but to be honest i don't think they really need much. The sp1 can take a stock but the vibe can't since the body is different. There's also the SLG sitting right at $200, it's an ok gun and can use A/S CO2 fairly well.

Hey thanks for the help but I still have a couple questions for you. just out of curiousity sake why do you pick the vibe and the vs1 over the 98c and the Ion?

A non ACT 98 goes for $120 new and you get nothing more then a well built mech gun that is pretty limited in upgrades itself and costs way to much to make it decent (like the ion). VS1's are e-spyders w/ eyes which pretty much makes them better then blind mech 98's IMO. Ions are nice guns but need a few thing out of the box to make them decent and they don't really lie CO2 very well. The vibe and sp1 are $140-$150 and both like i said in the first post are EP, shoot smoother then the 98 and ion, have regs (98 doesn't), are very quiet, the sp1 has a nice trigger (not sure about the vibes but it looks decent), and due to their low force bolt tech are very soft on paint which is why they don't have eyes right now. Sean from smart parts has a vid of him sticking his tongue in the breach and shooting a few shots, tongue was fine. I own a 98, sp1, and a upped ion and to be honest if i was starting out today and was on a budget i'd have to go w/ the vibe or sp1 still over a stock ion.

OMG i can't believe i forgot this, the RSX is $200 and it's a VS2 that can use CO2.

Man thanks for the taking the time and helping me out I really apprciate. So as of now I'm really leaning towards the spyder vs1.

Not a problem. The vs1 should out you off until you can afford HPA and a nice loader then a really nice gun if you want one.

Don't forget to buy a pod pack. Actionvillage sells some nxe 3 pod packs for about $15.

But other than that, you should be pretty happy. Eventually you'll want a new barrel as well, but that can wait.

Yes there's a big difference. Depending what the $10 pack might be high-end packs are more comfort designed and made a lot better.

My two pod packs were bought on the cheap, and they tend to wiggle around a lot, and bounce as I run. More expensive packs will tend to be much more secure.
