I have heard that phantoms have to be broken in. I was just wondering how much i would have to shoot?

I think I have heard that it takes about a case of paint.

Why does one need to break in the phantom? Does it help w/ the consistantce or something?

Its the same thing as breaking in a good car, you don't pound the hell outa of it first thing, all the parts click together smoother, and they're no real harshness to the pump stroke.

ohhh. Is there anything you can do to the arm (the thing that is attached to the pump to cycle it :| ) to lighten the loud and make the action smoother w/ going PA.

remove the spring;)

You can just take out a spring and have the pump arm be smoother? I would think they wouldn't add uneccesary parts.

I took of my spring just to try it. I realized that it was needed and i had to put it back on. What the spring does is make sure the pump is all the way in the forward position. If it isn't all the way forward the gun will not work properly. Since i like to hold onto the 4 oz in the vertical position i dont have my hand on the pump to keep it forward. If you hold onto the pump and keep it all the way forward you should have no problems with taking the spring off.

Oh, ok. I didn't think they would add an extra part.

ScottieMN: Do you rest your hand the on your tank that much. I would think that you would want have your hand on the pump action all the time.

Well, i don't always have my hand on the pump because its a more natural postion to have it on a foregrip, making my shots more accurate. This only applys for the first shot, if i have to take a string of them, i make sure to keep that hand on the pump handle.

So you have the vert. air? I was kinda leaning that way originally.

Oh, are you one of the guys that have the pump autococker?

Quick question about the phantom: If i got the tube hopper, thingy, could i switch to a hopper, or is that no good?

Yes, i have a Sniper 2 (the orginal that the autococker was desinged off of) and you can change from stock class to direct feed. All you neeed is 40 bucks and you can buy a new breech, Center feed, Left feed, right feed. I believe that if you look in the pump FAQ, that is covered...

I didn't know you had a sniper. I knew you HAD a phantom but i thought you either didnt have a marker or just didn't have a pump. In that case is the Sniper 2 nice?? I was considering it it just looks kinda plastic in the pics i have seen.

Not even close to being plastic, its a cocker with out front block and pnues. Doesn't come with a reg either (mother fluckers) but its about 200 bucks cheaper sooo

I like it, but i need to find a better barrel, Not a two piece.... damn things keep getting stuck because i can't get my hand on the base to turn that.... just keep unscrewing the front...
