Hey, I just picked up an old Tippmann SMG-68 at a rummage sale this weekend. This is the gun with the magazine that sticks out the side like a Sten submachine gun, and I believe it was designed to run on liquid CO2. It appears to be complete, has about 17 5-round clips with it (the magazine capacity is 3 clips). I don't know if it works yet, have not gassed it up.
Is this gun worth anything? Does anyone here know what I'm talking about?
Thanks,
Gripp

Their definatly worth something, especially the stripper clips.
MCB could give you a good appraisal.
I know I would love to get one of them.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I saw it underneath the PMI Trracer that had actually caught my eye. The two guns came in a box with the stripper clips, a bunch of 10 round tubes, a siphoned CO2 tank (dated '89) and some other junk.
I'll look up MCB and see if I can get an idea of the gun's value. Thanks for your help!

EDIT: I looked up MCB, and his last activity on the forums was several years ago. Is MCB an abbreviation of someone's username? Sorry for my ignorance. -V. G.

That's a nice piece of paintball history you've picked up there. It's worth a pretty penny to the right buyer.
EDIT:
I did a little searching, and someone bought one on the 'Nation back in '02 for $400.

yes, pics would be wonderful, i know exactly what your talking about. I would absolutely LOVE to have one of those. They are probably the rarest of all tippmann guns to date. That gun could go for upwards of $500!

For some reason it's not letting me upload the pictures. It says that it "is not a valid image file".
Anyway, I cleaned and lubed the gun on Sunday, and fired it a few times. There is a slight leak in the internal air line, but other than that the gun fires fine!
Thanks for all the replies, and I'll get pics up as soon as I can figure out what the problem is!
