View Full Version : Some help with upgrades?

I'll make this simple. My current setup is the 98 custom, rocket cock 2, 6 position car stock, double trigger, J&J 14" or ops-gear fluted 18" barrels, BT 3 piece vertical adapter, intruder x chamber. Upgrades I'm looking to buy are, cyclone feed, r trigger, starfire bolt, low profile hopper, and the dishka flash muzzle break (I want my gun loud). I also am looking for accuracy. My fluted barrel is really accurate, but i heard a new bolt would increase my accuracy any more. In my case, i don;t want to spend too much, but am willing to put in some cash. Any suggestions on what to do? thanks or any input!

the only thing that will affect your accuracy is air consistency, quality paint/barrel and how well the ball fits in the barrel. long unported barrels waste air and are loud.

also, the fluted barrel actually has good accuracy. up to i'd say 100ft accurately. If you watch the demo video, i wouldn't say it could go that far, 150 ft. but it has good range and accuracy.

would a new front bolt help with accuracy?

then if you have the last three things that make accuracy look into HPA or a reg thatll handle CO2 like the palmers stabilizer. no, the stock internals are pretty much the best out there. although a test was done and the dead on products bolt was shown to add a TINY bit of accuracy.

Hey, I'm trying to relax after a day at work, not forget it...
To the OP: what do you mean by "low profile hopper" on a 98?

To the OP: what do you mean by "low profile hopper" on a 98? It's a hopper that goes on the cyclone feed , 200 round hopper, and it's positioned so its smaller than th original hoper on the cyclone. Here's and example
Low Profilehttp://www.rockstartactical.com/ProductImages/a5parts/tipp_low_pro.jpg

Ah. I was unaware of the presence of a cyclone. You said low profile on a 98, and my brain came up with this:

The Warp feed is the very first ever force feeding loader. In that picture, it's the device with the round wheel and the nine volt. It was designed for Automags because they shoot way too fast for gravity when you use the rebound (which is kinda like Tippmann's Response trigger, but much much nicer. In fact, the only thing the two really have in common is the "bounce" effect) . The added benefit is that the hopper is no longer on top of the gun, making gun hits much less likely. They're not as fast as the new force feeders they have out today like the Halo, which is why you don't see them around much anymore. But anyone who does have one gets MAJOR cool points.
HK, if you think that's cool, you'd love my Cocker. You'd have to change your whole wardrobe.

Yep, that's a Cocker.
While it's not truly semiautomatic, it does re-cock itself after each shot. It was one of the very first markers to do so. Indeed, Glenn Palmer's Camille was an Autococker variant, and he claims it was the first ever semiauto paintgun. Check out the picture thread in the WGP forum if you want to see some nice examples.

Woodsball about 98% of the time, unless it's raining cats and dogs. Then we'll go to this local indoor speedball place that just opened up. But it's gotta be a deluge outside for us to not wanna go out. There's nothing like a game of puddlepump. When its raining too hard for batteries, everyone breaks out with the pumpguns. It's a blast. It's usually the hail that forces us indoors.

It would be a blast, and it would help with combat skills.

With tactics and close quarters stuff sure. Just don't rely on it exclusively. The local PD here does limited training with paintballs because it helps to prepare you for just how quickly a situation can unfold, but the nature of the paintballs themselves are the limiting factor in using them for extensive training. A liquid filled, gelatin sphere is far from a perfect projectile, and takes specific training to get used to it. Training that may be counterintuitive to what you need to know for real combat.

Heh... exactly.
Unless, of course, they've started cutting lumber from the fabled Iron tree. Even then, it'd probably have trouble with some of the higher caliber/velocity stuff out there. You'd need the Tungsten tree then.
