I would suggest Ebay for a better price:

(and get the APE E-Grip which is better)
Or for best results:

(Apex tip to put on the Palmers Brass Barrel)
APE E-Grip
http://cgi.ebay.com/32-DEGREES-HEAVY-DUTY-COIL-REMOTE_W0QQitemZ360057764598QQihZ023QQcategoryZ830 44QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Other parts bought individually also so you get quality.
http://www.opsgear.com/Tippmann-A5-Modifications-Mods-Upgrades-and-Accessories-s/240.htm
A better mask would be one with a Thermal Lense since anything with an Anti-Fog coating or spay is worthless.
Most fields won't let you use a laser and a new bolt won't inprove performance (the stock bolt and powertube will give you the best performance and should only be replaced in the rare chance of you bolt and powertube breaking).
With an increased rate of fire from an E-Grip, I recommend getting Tech-T cyclone upgrades with the minimum upgrade being the Vortex Ratchet:

It was stock and an APE E-Grip would have to be bought.
Why must you have the flatline barrel?
The flatline is hard on paintballs, needs to be tuned, and has some other downsides.
The Palmers Brass Barrel is the best single bore barrel you can get and the Apex Tip can give it the flatline effect and more. It is adjustable from 0=Off, 4=Flatline, 8=Super Flatline. It can also do trick shots, easier cleaned, and not as hard on paintballs.
The Palmers Brass Barrel and Apex Tip is one of the best barrel combinations you can buy.

well iv read a lot of forums and looked up info online and i hadnt heard anything bad about the flatline barrel, and it adds like 100ft to projectile trajectory. almost all of the other A-5's that are sold on different sites either cost more or they dont have the W.A.S. board or E-grip.
the flateline was part of the package and i might have to look into that palmers barrel sounds awesome

The apex will actually add more range than the flatline and the flatline only adds 50' if that.
There is a big problem with shooting that far though. The farther the paintball travels, the slower it goes. With the extra range from the flatline or apex, the paintball is more likely to bounce than break (if you have the perfect paintballs, then they are more likely to break but still bounce alot).
The flatline must shoot at a specific velocity of about 265-285FPS or it will not work right where as the Apex is not as picky on the speed of the paintball.

I only have one thing to say about the Flatline: After having previously owned one, I would never have another one on my Tippmann.

Always on, hard to clean, hard of paintballs, has to be "tuned", needs a specific velocity, needs a specific paintball to shoot with any accuracy, etc.
The simple fact that the Apex tip can be put on just about any barrel and can be turned off as well as bing adjustable makes it better than the flatline barrel which is always on.
Even if you got an extra 100' in range, you will have hardly any accuracy and at that range and speed, the paintball is more likely the bounce than break.

I didn't have any problems with one on my A5, but the apex was better. Unless your going for a mil-sim type look, i'd drop the laser, bipod and such. I used to play with this guy every so often who would always say, awww there goes another laser, he apparently had lost like 4 laser and eventually gave up with them. he never even used them for games, because the field wouldn't allow it.

.690 bore
On a Tippmann, porting won't make a difference.
Hopefully you mean 12" instead of 12'.

Then you actually want an Airgun Designs Tac One, not a Tippmann. You need compressed air and a decent hopper, but that's all you will ever need.
corrupted can you go into detail why the flatline is bad?
Orpackrat prettymuch says it all:
Always on, hard to clean, hard of paintballs, has to be "tuned", needs a specific velocity, needs a specific paintball to shoot with any accuracy, etc.
Basically, it's extremely picky on what paint will shoot well through it, shreds more balls than your average barrel, and is very difficult to get completely clean once you do break. And you will break, believe me. So basically your scenario goes down like this: you show up at a field that only lets you use field paint. That paint doesn't shoot well through the Flatty. As a result, you get a Wagner instead of a paintball gun. And then to add to your misery, you can't even get the barrel clean enough to prevent more breaks.
EDIT:
See post #8 in the following thread for my latest rant on the Flatline versus the Apex:
http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4200001#post4200001
venting worth the extra $50 :eyes:Palmer will tell you that it is, but don't go for it. I'm sure that the venting does add some performance increase, however that increase is so slight that you'll never notice it in the real world. Take it from a guy who's owned several of them: Venting 'ain't worth it.

i dont know why but i would rather not buy the palmers barrel, (i want to get them all from the same site) so im going to get the flatline w/ the package and the standard barrel comes w/ it. What other barrel should i use for field paint, and can you buy field paint from online or do i have to make it or buy it from the field?

If your going to get a E-Grip then a Flatty wont be a good idea. It doesnt handle high rates of fire very well.

Yes sir. The Edge Elite kit is awesome. Went through 2 in a half cases of paint today and didnt chop or break any paint. Plus its very accurate and will hit your target.(within the range of a normal barrel)
Plus if you want a barrel with distance you can order your jj kit and ask if its possible for them to send you the old style tip for your 12 or 14in that way you can do that apex tape mod.

I remember when the ole flatty first came out, everyone was like, zomg this is the greatest thing ever, those silly speedballers will never hit me now.. I loved it, still do, my friend uses one on his A5 still, it works so good if you can get the right combo of paint, and velocity. You just need to experiment with it. True the Apex is better since the long ball feature can be basically turned off, and it is less paint picky, but a flatline can be just as nice if you ask me. And I've had both. If you really want accuracy, get a barrel kit, but all of us go through the longball phase.

I have to admit that if you're adamant and baby the thing, there's no reason a Flatline will ever do you wrong. But most people just don't exhibit the kind of diligence required to keep it running right. You've got to follow the rules or it'll bite back. I prefer to have something that's a little more forgiving when you step outside the boundaries. That's why I bought Tippmann in the first place.

First I would suggest NOT spending a million dollars before you've even shot the gun.
My opinion (based on my mistake i made with my A-5's)
Order the A-5 with the things you NEED to play well and have fun.
Needs= Gun, barrel, tank, mask
Then play a while (meaning more than 2 weekends...) and THEN start looking at useless stuff such as bipods, shrouds, etc.
My mistake was I played 2 weekends, then went out and bought a $700 a-5 all at once a complete M82A1 shroud, red dot, with the A-5, e-grip, J&J barrel + flatline, stock, and a list of other mods.... got it and liked it for a while but then I spent $350 on a Dangerous Power G3 and it outshoots BOTH my A-5's which have $700 invested in each of them.
just play for a while with an a-5 NOT maxed out and see hwo u like it, all those mods only improve the A-5 so much--they will not turn it into super-gun. I've never been completely satisfied with my A-5's after you pass the noob stage :)

^^
I'll concur with that. It took me two full years to get my A-5 to the point where I consider it to be done. The best way to upgrade is to play with the marker for a while, so you can discover where it's lacking. Then you do the research to find out the best way to fix the void infraction. Finally, you play with the marker for a while so that you can get used to the new gadget. Once you're used to everything, then you can go searching for new places where your marker is deficient.
