problem with co2 frost on the regulator

I just got my sp-1 today the only thing i have a problem with is that there is frost comming from the side of the regulator. Is this normal? I know there is frost on the bottom. Does anybody have this problem?

It's normal. Are you using A/S'ed CO2 or a remote line?

If you want it to stop don't shoot as fast.

If you dont want to slow down then just don't worry about it, you shouldn't have any adverse effects unless it gets really bad.

People upgrade from Co2 because with co2 you can put it on full auto and down 2 pods and a hopper. Just like when shooting a gun your barrel will overheat, it's the same thing with co2, but reversed.
If you want to see an improvment a HPA tank can be gotten at $50. A 20oz is around the same price.

A 20 oz for $50 bucks? that would be a jip right there. One of the main things about co2 tanks is that they are soo cheap. I think AVI sells all their tanks for under 15, or atleast they used to.

sorry, I thought co2 tanks were $30 or so. It's been awhile till I looked at co2 tanks.

the Sp1 is designed to blow the liquid co2 out through the exhaust port on the regulator. That is when you stop shooting and give it 3-5 seconds to do so. If your shooting downward then itll happen more often. Its normal to an extent but if its completely freezing over then its bc your getting to much liquid and continuing to shoot without the gun letting the exhaust burst out.

Yeah with shipping and and all a 20oz. from AV would be like a tad under $20.

If you are playing with the bottle on the gun use a antisyphon. they cost about 45 to 50 bucks. or use a remote line. thats what I use. it makes it so much lighter. I was shooting mine on full auto until my tank was empty and I had the same frosting. nothing to wory about. I tried that with my epiphany and it froze up. I lov that sp-1.

An A/S job only costs about $10 not $45.

dude do yourself a favour and get a HPA tank, the gun works soooo much better with air than with Co2, and you dont have to worry about liquid co2 entering your gun and messing up your internals and o-rings, its worth the cash

I never saw much of a difference when i had mine. I even preferred using CO2 on my old SP1 even when i had a HPA tank. Only reason i'd say get or use HPA on it would be if you live in a cold climate or play a lot in the winter.

True, well I'm in Toronto so the climate varies, but I find consistency is better, on the chrono I'm at +-5 fps

Got My SP-1 today and was NOT impressed. i put it on auto and held trigger and the velocity would instanly drop by the 3rd ball. Am i missing something? all the hipe on this gun and looks like i'm going to get in big trouble this weekend if i get cornered. Please any help would be appriciated. i did break it down and clean and re oiled it. will test tomorrow but for now i think it's something other than a cleaning. and why should i have to clean a brand new gun any way? Fresh out the box and not a good sign.

Try a new brand name battery, try changing the dwell to the other setting, let the reg break in. You could also just play without using full-auto as well :P

Also were you using CO2 or HPA? If you were using CO2 is the tank A/S'ed or did you have the gun pointing down while you fired it? How bad was the drop? Pretty much any gun without a high-end reg can suffer from drop off.
