Can anyone lead me to a guide for painting a marker like the a-5? None of the other methods don't seem like they would work, as it is not aluminum. I am going to paint a tigerstripe pattern on it(I already know how to do that, so I just need to know what to use and such)

almost all of the tippmann guns are cast aluminum, which is waaaaay easier to paint than billet Al.

I'd actually rather go through the mess of anodizing than try and paint billet. Primer doesn't even stick to that stuff.

Thanks for all the help guys. How much would anodizing set me back? I'm thinking it would be quite expensive for the entire pattern. As for painting, what kind would you recommend? Rattle Can Spray Paint I guess would be a last resort, and airbrushing might(emphasis on might) be a possibility, but the nearest airbrush I know of is at my school, and in a technology class where you pretty much have to hide your sh*t from all the idiots who have the class in another period. What other brands would work?

I'm pretty sure you can't anodize the pot-metal aluminum that they use on Tippmanns.

correctamundo. the cast aluminum will just kinda dissolve in the anno tank. theres nothing wrong with rattle canning the gun, if you dont like it it wont cost that much to re-do. the best option would be to send it to wookie on the A5OG. he does some outstanding work. or................. you could just like in the movie shooter and use green and tan flat paint and a few fern leaves. i used fake fern leaves from an arts and crap store for my cousins 98 and it came out good enough he sold the heap the first day he used it. just lay the a few ferns on and spray your tan on to the already black gun, wait about an hour for it to dry and then repeat with the green slightly over lapping the leaves. camo is all about breaking up your outlines. thats why us fat guys wear t-shirts under unbuttoned loose over shirts, breaks up the outlines of the luuuuuuuv handles :D plus loose shirts hide a waist/under arm holster really well :sulk:

I painted mine with all Krylon spray paint.
Put it under some really heavy duty lights for awhile then under a fan for awhile.
Seems pretty solid.
