I want an a5 with a 14in barrel because I like that it's automatic. I am wondering if I should get a 98 pro and just upgrade it with a flatline or something like that and a double trigger. Do you think I could shoot as fast as the a5 without getting a response trigger or a cyclone feeder? Please leave me some suggestions. thanks. This would help alot.

Should I get the response trigger for it first or a new barrel?

New barrel. Accuracy is more important than the volume of paint you can fire. The stock A-5 barrel is droves better than the stock 98C barrel, but it's still pretty bad when compared to what the aftermarket can provide.

We're gonna need to clear up quite a lot here. A base A-5 and a base 98 will shoot exactly the same. Indeed, they are almost the same gun inside. The main difference when referring to performance is that the A-5 comes with a loader already attached to it.
You can get an electronic trigger for either marker that will let you have any number of shooting modes, or you can get a Response Trigger for either marker.
Think of the A-5 as a 98C that has a loader permanently attached, and is easier to take apart. Now, if you want a cyclone on a 98, you can have that too.

Barrel, I suggest looking into getting a Palmers Brass Barrel. Its and excellent barrel for people on a budget.

Tell me how you think this sounds; a 98 custom pro with e trigger. Would i need a new cyclone feeder? a 14in barrel also. Do you think this would be better than getting an a5?

You know even, after merging the three threads this is still somehow fairly coherent, I like that.
You don't need to start a different thread for every little question, replying to an already existing thread can work just fine, I promise.
With that said, hold both markers, play with them if you can, they will feel and handle differently, however, the will perform about the same. Buy the one that feels best to you and then play with that for a day or two. Think about what you did and didn't like performance-wise while you were playing, then think about whether or not those problems had more to do with the marker or you.
After you have been patient and put some though into these things you should address any issues via aftermarket upgrades.
Yes, you will probably want a new barrel there are any number of solid choices out there, the PPS Brass has come into vogue lately, and dethroned the Custom Products 1-Piece as the most oft-recommended barrel in this forum, both are excellent performers. J&J and Lapco also make excellent barrels that have been favorites of Tippmann users for quite some time. At one time or another all 4 brands have been in and out of style as the "go to" barrel for players wanting to upgrade.

Putting a cyclone on a 98C makes it equivalent in performance to the A5.
The A5 body is a little more customizable than the 98C. I personally have the 98C and prefer it over the A5.
E-Trigger, get an APE. If you plan on shooting above 12BPS, you will need to upgrade the cyclone with Tech-T upgrades (Vortex Ratchet at the minimum).
What 14" barrel?

I would get the 98 just because if I wanted to get into speedball, I could ebolt it :P. OK bad idea, I was kidding. But stock, both guns shoot relatively the same. The A-5 will load faster if you are using a gravity-fed hopper with the 98. Barrel upgrades are almost a must, because Tippmann stock barrels aren't that great. They will suffice if you're speedballing, but from further ranges, in my experience at least, they are not enough.
