Hi, I am just getting into paintball and have been looking all over the internet on all the markers out there, and i cant seem to decide what one is the best. Now my price range is only $200-$250 just for the marker. I basically have nothing for my paintball gun but I would like some suggestions on loaders, tanks, barrels and such also on the decision of the gun you think is good. I mainly play rec but i want a better gun than all of my friends. I want just a good overall gun that is accurate, fast, reliable, and i dont really care about the design of the gun. This is all pretty much vague but i need help. Thank you

Check out the new Spyder Electras, or perhaps try and find a Spyder Vs2 that is still in stock somewhere. And dare i say look into Smart Parts Ions or Epiphanys.
They are cheap and reliable if you take care of them. For the type of money your looking at, you wont need more than a Evolution 2 or 3 hopper for your marker. Look around in some of the Topic Specific sub-fourms, for hoppers and barrels, ect. Ittl help.

Meh still have yet to see one of the new Electras but i've heard they are really cheap feeling. For your price range a new PMR, SLG, or F7 Fusion (if you can find one) would be your best options. However though you'll need to fork over the cash for a HPA tank which go for around $150 for a nice tank. A force fed loader is also a good idea to get as well. If you can't afford an HPA tank then something like a Spyder RS or again the SLG would be nice.
Now just one more thing, if it turns out that you can afford a nice HPA tank then buying used is a very good option. In your price range you for sure find many older high-ends like gen 1 or gen 2 timmys, Nerves, PM5's, and maybe even a PM6. Might even be able to track down a good condition ACE'd classic Matrix.

Now i have narrowed it down to basically 3 guns PMR, Epiphany, and the SLG. Out of those 3 which one is the best?. Or they basically all the same guns?. I want to buy new and not used. also I will get an HPA tank when the time comes.

If your going to be getting either of those 3 guns, id suggest having compressed air first, and not some ripoff aluminum 3000 psi tank either, if going this route get the best. As for the guns i personally would take the SLG.
Although what do u have total to spend?(gun, mask, hopper, tank, barrel, harness, goggles )
What type of paintball will you be playing?
Is compressed air readily available?

Right now i have nothing for paintball so i will be getting it all slowly in time. As of right now ill just be getting the gun (stock with no upgrades for a while), the tank, cheap goggles, and a good hopper.

Don't skimp out on your mask, it's much worst have a bad mask then a cheap gun. You do have some options for decent masks that are thermal in the $30 range so look at them.

Id suggest just saving till u can get everything. Although i can help on basic ideas and what it'd cost ya. I wont slap in a bunch of cheap crap thats not necessary, if i wont use it i wont recommend it. Nobodies had a problem with my package suggestions yet :P

atleast a 45/4500 tank. Look around on trade forums most 06 and 07 tanks are going for 100-130ish. For barrel the stock is decent and wouldnt need replaced right away but if u felt that the time has come to change it id suggest the DW fibur for it and a used freak insert kit since their cheap also. Mask Id suggest JT proflex, or Vforce Grillz.

If you want a small light setup go for the 45/45 or a 48/45 and a vlocity or vlocity Jr. They can keep up with the SLG and are very light.

I wouldn't suggest getting a tank that has a max pressure of 3000 psi. usually because they are Aluminum tanks, or if they are carbon fiber won't hold as much as the others.
As for a barrel, i would hold off on a barrel until you get a decent mask. I strongly suggest Profilers, you can get them for about 55 bucks now and I have never had mine fog on me ( I live in SE Texas ).
Something else you need to look into is a good pod pack/harness. To me these are one of the most overlooked, yet essential, pieces of equipment for a paintball player. Make sure it fits you nice and tight, you can run in it with confidence and you can bend it in easily.
It's really tough to decide what your priorities are when you start out, so just be patient and make the right decision.

ok...i still like the slg..but would a mini be just as good or better than the slg?
If i did get the slg i would buy it brand new...if i got the mini i would buy it used..
What would you reccomend?

Personally dont bother with the X7. Its an A5 that you can further customize by simply tightening a new plastic piece onto. Complete waste of money, adds weight and doenst do anything for performance. I mean sure tippmanns are work horses and fairly solid guns, but why waste the money on it.
If i had 800 dollars right now for something, id be buying either a used angel 4 with fly conversion, G7/G7 fly, cyborg, timmy, or pretty much any other high end that would allow me to still have money left over for a barrel (if needed) 4500psi tank and a good electronic hopper.
note: just bc something has rails on it and u can make it look similar to a real gun doesnt make it a good choice for woodsball/scenario. I play scenario, its pretty much all i play and i own multiple high ends and tons of gear. Most scenario players and teams i know all rock high end equipment. why? bc its lighter, smaller, better performing. Why go for looks instead of performance, i dunno.
