I'm not sure if this is the proper category, but I'm having trouble with viewing the reviews on PBR. I run Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1. I didn't have this problem with Microsoft IE, but that had its own problems. I need to use Firefox, but it's messing up. I've noticed this for a while.

I'm not sure if it's Mozilla's fault of PBR's. Could some of you with Mozilla try it? Maybe I've got a corrupt version, or maybe it is PBR. If you go to an actual review, rather than the master Paintball Gear page, you might find the problem I have.

It would be nice if you could actually explain to us what the problem or error you were recieveing was.

I didn't put that there? Great...

OK, my problem is that it crashes every time I go on any review pages. It just shuts the page, asks you to send a report, and starts up again.

Odd. I'll take note and have the tech personnel from Demand examine the issue. Can you PM me with screen shots or more detail? How long as this been happening?

I have tried visiting many review pages on FF and IE and did not encounter a problem. Can you provide an example of a problem link?

Thanks!

That happens within about 8 seconds of going to any review page.

Thanks for the quick response!

Can you send me the link to the review as well.

It's any review. Once i get to the list of actual products rather than categories, I've got about 8 seconds to do whatever. The reason I'm thinking it might be PBR is because if I stop the loading in its process, it won't shut down.

As you can see Kate and company are working to resolve the issue. Thanks!

Thanks. But who's Kate? Is she with Mozilla?

I would assume she is part of the Demand Media staff designated to pbr.

Yes you are correct, and we are looking into this problem. I will let you know as soon as we have some answers...

Again, thanks for your patience!

Sorry for the delay, but we cannot seem to find the root of the problem you are having on our end. It must be something wrong with your Mozilla. Does this happen to you when you are in a different browser, such as IE?

Please let us know.

Thanks!

That's why I was hoping you were from Mozilla - IE 6 - 8B2 works fine. Also, that's another reason why I asked if anyone else had the problem - it may be my copy of FireFox, or the whole updated program.

Un-install firefox, then re-install it.

I was thinking that, but I've done a lot of modifications to the program and don't feel like loading it all again... Oh well. I guess I could try.

Ok, guess what... I diagnosed the problem!

I accidentally blocked all the adds and pictures from PBR's web server, adn the problem ceased. The pictures aren't actually a proble, because they are just JPEG, PNG, BMP, and GIF files. BUT, the advertisements are different case.

AND, when I added the ad server to the IGNORE list for firefox, the problem dissapeared. Then, when I cleared the list, the problem appeared again.

I'd really appreciate it if I could find out what server the ad is coming from. I have a Spyware blocker that blocks a couple thousand websites, and it shuts down browsers that display potentially bad things (otherwise known as bugs). If add that server to the ok list, then leave everything else blocked, the problem will be solved.

If anyone would like to experience my problem, get Spybot S & D (newest edition) and imunize your system, then download the newest version of Firefox that casme out a couple days ago (3.0.2).

The now-newest version (came out just days after 3.0.2) is 3.0.3, and it works perfectly, no matter what. It fixed a lot of other problems I was having, too.
