i have an ion and have a small budget. i need a barrel kit and have come down to two kits to choose from: the J&J elite ceramic with 1 front and 5 backs for $55 and the redz pepper stickz kit with 2 fronts and 3 backs for $60. can u guys tell me which, in your experience, is better, taking into consideration accuracy, bore sizes true to what they are claimed to be bored to, durability, "bang for your buck," and pretty much anything that makes a barrel kit good? thanks

u could get a redz if u wanted... but its 5 backs versus 3. Its like getting a stripped down halo b or a zboarded egg3. U can get the nice one, or the nicer one with less parts. If u really want the pepperstickz go wit it. i think 4 u u shud save ur cash. Tourneys are expensive u kno

yea i know but its only $5 more and those are pretty much the only bores im gonna use i have already tested with the pipe kit. also because the site i found it on only has one left and all others are selling it for $120:eek:

Well as long as you don't have a cocker you technically only need 3 sizes of bores in a kit. A small, medium, and large bore is all that you need and most of the time what you'll ever use. I have inserts and backs in both my kits that i've yet to even touch.

yeah the bore sizes are small-.687, medium-.689, and large-.691 . only problem is .687 might not be small enough for tournament paint- but i dont use that so im fine:). the reason im leaning toward the pepper stickz is because its better for slightly mor, but the main reason is that its only at that unbeatable price at one site and there is only one left in stock. so what do u think i should go for?

Again unless it's a cocker or another closed bolt marker have a bore that is slightly bigger is perfectly ok. You really only need to worry about the bore size being to small for the paint. I know the Redz has 8" inch backs which is the optimum length for backs and inserts. They're both nice barrels, either one should make you happy.

ok thanks i think i will go for the redz pepper stickz because its at a great price, looks cooler, and ive heard that its better. also if i dont like it i can sell it for more than i got it for on ebay because its the last one in stock for that cheap:P

does anyone know if there are more backs available for the pepperstickz? i dont really need them for my wal-mart paint but it would be nice to have more backs just in case. also, i know this is off topic, but where would i start a thread comparing bolts for the ion?

O MY GOSH I JUST REALIZED I DOUBLE POSTED please dont ban me or anything moderators im really sorry :(

You can probably buy extra backs from Redz. As for the other thing the Ion forum is where you need to go. But search though, there's several threads there concerning that question.

Was there a problem listed about anything? This is a thread comparing barrel kits not anything about guns.
