how difficult is it to remove the valve from inside the power tube? i am wanting to buy a red hot power tube from JCS and they said i had to use the stock valve. also, can i use martian goo on the internals of the cyclone feed, specifically the ratchet and spring mechanism, or do i need to buy some regular white lithium grease?

Take it out, remove the tombstone, screw out the velocity adjuster, and using a pencil, push the valve out.

Regular air too oil or gun oil if the cyclone internals are stock. If you have it upgraded like with the Tech-T upgrades, then white lithium grease is recommended.

It's gonna be wedged in there good if you've never taken it out before. Don't be afraid to give it a good shove, just be careful that the pencil is braced against the aluminum of the valve and not the tombstone o-ring. The only friction point is at the rear of the valve, where the hammer strikes it. There's a large o-ring between the valve and the power tube there. Oiling this area could help to loosen it up if it's being fickle.

I use needle nose pliers and pull it out instead of pushing it out. If you use needle nose pliers, dont be scared to grip it strong so it don't slip.

Pulling the valve out by the cup seal is not recommended. Damaging the pin could cause trouble. The valve relies on smooth operation, and tooth marks from a set of pliers is not going to facilitate that. That's why we use the eraser end of the pencil to push it out.

I just looked it on youtube how to get the powertube out and that's how the person did it about a month ago, I know if you push on the pin, it will cause the washer, o-ring, and spring to pop out and not work properly, but I guess using a pencil with an eraser would be better just for the sake of not breaking something.
