Check out what I saw, this looks like really big news to me, but if you dont follow tourneys, or know who avalanche is, you probably couldnt care less. Anyhow
Glenn Forster, captain of Avalanche when they won the ’99 NPPL title, has been cut from Avalanche's roster for the remainder of the season. Avalanche was carrying 14 people on their roster, and Glenn recommended that this number be cut to 12.
Avalanche owner Ed Poorman agreed; unfortunately, the unexpected happened when Glenn discovered that he was to be one of the two players cut.
Every cloud has a silver lining, for Glenn at least, as he was immediately offered a spot on Chuck Hendsch's new team Dynasty. They took 3rd Pro at the LA NPPL this year, and with Glenn helping to set up their field strategy from now on they are easily contenders for the Series title.
Shocked at the news, we asked Ed Poorman if he'd been taking drugs:
"Chuck told me I was an idiot to cut Glenn and I guess time will tell. We'll be making more cuts in the near future that some lucky team will benefit from, but we need to get the roster in a more workable size and it doesn't mean we don't have our eyes on some other players for the future. I'm sure you would agree that 14 players is at least two too many."
So there you go - method behind the madness.
Although, you gotta kinda laugh at a team captain suggesting 2 people get cut, then the owner going "Ok, you're one of em". Still, that's some news
