I doubt it, I've never heard of a single recorded death resulting from a paintball impact, even in cases where goggles werent worn and eye(s) were lost. Someone should email a doctor about that

I think you've got that wrong there Dawgs ... the shear fear you would feel from being in my prescence is more than enough to cause your bowels to implode, you lungs to explode and force you to run screamin' "Mama" loudly and often ... Whole villages have been known to sacrifice their herd animals to me ... and in some parts of the world I'm a "Quite Significant" deity ...
But back to your question ... The only way I could see that happening is if someone took a direct hit on the larnyx/Adam's apple from very close range, shooting at least 300 fps. I base this on something my sensei used to tell us, that it only takes five pounds of pressure to crush the larnyx. If that were to happen, the person could suffocate because he wouldn't be able to draw air into his lungs. How possible that is, I don't know.

that close someone would have to aim for the larynx...i doubt it then

Accidents happen, when I bunker, I just point, that's close range and if someones larynx happens to be at muzzle level, it may happen. I've been shot there, and I was scared I might die, but I realized I could still breathe. I'd think if it was possible, given the number of people who play paintball, someone would have died as a result by now, and I think we'd all be wearing neckguards as a rule. I mean, you're probably just as likely to get hit squarely in the larynx as your eyes, so why wear goggles and no neck guards if it is an issue. And I dont sleep at night, because I too fear the day Muck comes for me
