I was just looking around ebay and I came across a new e-grip for the A-5.

Looks like Tippmann started to make the X-7 e-grip for the A-5 which is called the Tippmann A-5 HE E-Grip.

The price seems to be about $130 (http://www.getintosports.com/product.php?productid=16840&cat=262&page=1). I can't seem to find it on Tippmann's site though.

Tippmann HE A-5 E-grip Kit Description:
The external mode HE A-5 e-Grip can shoot up to 20 bps and features 5 firing modes including semi auto, turbo, 3-shot safety burst, auto response and full safety auto. New weatherproof system is great for woods ball play and can change modes on the fly. The Internal mode system can also be set to semi-auto to allow the e-Grip to meet regulations of any organized field event.

Looks like they might be trying to cut in on the SP1's waterproof design a little. That and the magnetic trigger are the only decent things about it that i can see. The external mode adjustment is about as pointless as anything since most fields only allow semi-auto there's no point to change modes like that. Besides for the price you can almost just buy a better gun.

This pretty much proves that Tippmann has decided to market specifically to the scenario groups. Why else make something like this?

dont use with a double trigger made by tippmann, my brother was playing and it got stuck shooting on full auto. he broke about 15 balls and the only way to stop it was to take the tank off... be cautious

That doesn't really have anything to do with this thread and i've actually never heard of that happening. If he had an e-grip then i'd say it's probably due to bounce or by some small chance the switch got stuck.

Maybe if tippmann made it, considering it is an Engler product.

Biggest advantage i see here is the waterproof external battery door. A5 egrip owners will know the hassle of pinched wires and tiresome battery changing with old egrips.
