I am upgrading from the stock barrel on my Tippmann 98 custom with an eTrigger and I am desiding between a J&J Performance Ceramic 16" Barrel and a Smart Parts Tactical 16" Barrel. Suggestions?

Eh J&J Ceramics are very nice barrels as are CP classics. Never used the SP Tac barrel but being the shortest length is 16" i wouldn't touch it. 16" barrels are quite pointless outside of like a custom gun. Stick to like a 12" or 14" barrel, they'll be slightly more air efficient and also much less unwieldy.

Actually, the length doesnt affect the air efficency. The ball only travels so far of the length of the barrel before no more air is used to propell the ball.
But the longer the ball has to travel by its self inside the barrel does effect the balls accuracy. ANYWAY,
Havnt used a Tac barrel, but i do have a J&J kit, and i love it.

I can tell you, for a fact that CP one piece barresl are more accurate than J&J's. I have owned both at the same time when I had a 98 custom and my current SP1. I decided to give them a try again since they are so quiet and look better IMO...but my 14" CP outshot the J&J.
My suggestion is either a Proto or CP. Both are $30 barrels.

DO NOT create a WHAT BARREL FOR XXX GUN? type of thread without doing some research.
And by research I mean:
- determine your price range
- then look at barrels that can be had for that price.
- read reviews
- search the Barrels and Paint forum
And finally, if you have 2 or more barrels you can't decide on THEN post a WHAT BARREL FOR XXX GUN thread.
Actually they do say to post stuff like this...
