Hi paintballers of Earth and beyond, I have a question about, what the title says, paintball pistols. Most of fellow players say that I really do not need a backup pistol, mainly because I won't have a "last stand" :tombstne: kinda deal,(yes they play Call of Duty:computer: ) which I agree with, they say that it would be highly unaccurate (alot of pistols Ive heard of are pretty dang accurate, from what I know), I would waste paint, I wouldn't be able to manuvure well with the holster, and lots of other crap. My marker has a sling, so I figured for low-crawls, close quarter stuff, or taking some one for their first time paintballing (so I wouldn't waste $59 paint on someone for there first time with my 98c) I could use a pistol convienently. I was going for a pump, but I would rather stick to my 98c. My gun is well customized, so I really don't need to put stuff into that. Any thing to counter or support my friends opinions on paintball pistol marker would be gladly appreciated. Also put other uses for a pistol that you can think of. THANKS!!!

Most actual fields wont let you take more than one marker on the field. Also, their capacity would be so small compaired to a normal marker you would want to conserve and aim carefully, something you cant do at pistol range.

I've been wanting to get a pistol as well, but I think I'm holding out for the TPX. I like the placement of the paintball magazine better, but don't want to deal with the expense and CO2 placement on the Tiberius pistol.

Big reason I want it is to play around with the idea of running light. My typical woodsball (or speedball for that matter) is my marker, a 45ci/4.5k tank, and three 140 round pods. It's not much, but I can definitely feel the bulk of it when I'm trying to run. I figure playing with a pistol would let me use only the pistol, plus some spare magazines and an extra CO2 cartridge. The marker would be a lot lighter, so it would be quicker to aim, and it would have a much smaller profile. I'd also feel a lot more comfortable jumping into a bush without a bulky marker or pod pack to get caught up on everything.

I have played pump, but even with the smaller hopper and air tank, you're still carrying a couple pods, and while it is a lighter set up than my standard, it is by no means as light and tight as a pistol.

The field I play at (BatttleFront Paintball) allows the use of pistols by the way. Your probably right about the limit of paintballs...

Anyway, BattleFront has lots of buildings (their website has a lot of pics if you want to see). Most of them are pretty big, but a few are about 3 yards from one "doorway" to another( It is kinda urbanish, if you know what I mean), so I figured I could use in those situations.
Thanks for the ideas and contraditions everyone!:D

Well.. the Zeus G2 is one of the nicest pistols.. that is until the tiberius was introduced. The problem pistols always seemed to have had was being very large and bulky for a pistol. Also alot of them seemed to be unreliable, wether it be seals going or the puncture pins breaking easily. The tac8/9 are a solid and amazing performing pistol, however its downfall is cost of mags, 8 round capacity and for some the 12 gram change however the 12 grams last for a good 3-5 reloads. And the Tac8 is very customizable... tpx may be promising with lower clip costs.. however im not a fan of the 12 gram being in the front.
