Since this is a safety issue I though id post here for Tippmann A-5 Owners

**************
Tippmann Sports is issuing a voluntary recall of certain end cap assemblies on selected Tippmann® A-5® paintball markers. The markers affected by this recall have serial numbers between 0409301 and 0422200, and were sold by Tippmann Sports to dealers and distributors between May 23, 2008 and September 24, 2008. Tippmann Sports has determined that some of these end cap assemblies may present a safety issue under certain conditions because there is a potential for the end cap assembly to break and/or eject. As a result, Tippmann Sports is recalling and replacing all affected end cap assemblies from the marketplace.

Contact Tippmann Sports at (866) 841-3029 (260-749-6022, extension 3149 from outside the United States) or email recall@tippmann.com (mhtml:{688817E7-2708-4A67-8D4C-C77E2C5A4615}mid://00000903/!x-usc:mailto:recall@tippmann.com) to arrange for free repair kits or to arrange a return of the inventory within the serial number range

Huh, I had that happen to a folding stock, but not a factory end cap. Good info, Dave.

I currently use my A5 in a B5 setup, and the buttplate is now the endcap. But good info regardless.

if I use a 4 pos stock, I don't need to check with tippmann with that recall right since I removed the endcap (or endcap isn't what I'm thinking it is)? Cause I bought my tippmann in those date, though I dunno of my serial #.

I've just checker everywhere on my gun (inside out since it's in pieces right now) and no where to find the serial number.

The serial number on an A-5 will be on the left receiver, opposite the cyclone. Holding the marker so that the barrel faces to your left (or if it's apart, orient the the left receiver so you're looking the outside, upright), you'll see three allen head bolts (or holes) on the bottom of the marker between the tombstone and the barrel. The middle one is larger, and holds on the cyclone. The serial number will be inscribed between this large bolt and the smaller one closest to the tombstone.

On a 98C, IIRC, the serial number should be on the right receiver, either just behind the "push fire" or right above the grip, below the warning message.

oh I found the serial! Hard to see cause I washed my gun many time (dirt, paint, etc...) and the serial is nearly erased. Should be engrave in it, I'll have to repaint it

Good thing is, my serial is 0400 so not in the recall
