You will get more shots out of C02 vs HPA in a equal sized tank, However HPA is a kinder more gentle system to feed your marker. It won't freeze up on you it won't eat up o-rings, and some people even claim it adds accuracy. So if ya got the money go nitro! ;)

a 48 ci nitro tank will get about 400 shots per fill a 68 ci will get about 600 shots per fill. A 20 oz tank will get about 1000 shots per fill and if you get an anti-siphon tube installed in a c02 tank you will get 1400 shots per c02 plus the benefits and consistenct of nitro without the cost. Look at this web site. They can hook you up with a nice anti-siphon c02 tank.

A correctly set up Impulse will get in excess of 1000 shots per fill on a 68/4500 N2 tank
the same gun with the dwell correctly set will give around 1200 shots from a 20 CO2
More and More fields are offering "all day fills' on N2 (pay once and fill all day)
While CO2 is just fine, I honestly feel you will sometime end up with N2- esp if you plan to do turnies.

N2 is far more easy to manage if you want to have your own fill system. I have a $180 scuba tank that I use that I can get filled to 3000 PSI for $5 at the local dive shop. I can get about 5+ good fills off of that with my 68 ci 3000 flatline tank.
