Ok, so I got a RT for one of my A-5s, but after I installed it and I went to clamp the two sides back togather, Fate decided to hate on me again and made me loose another piece for the 2nd time. But this time, its the tombstone latch, anybody got any ideas on how to make a homemade or ghettofied (that even a word?) tombstone latch, or if anybody is feeling super awesome and happens to have a stock pile of them and wants to mail me one, that would work too. But as highly unlikely as that is, the homemade tombstone latch seems more likely to happen.

Long time no see btw

Technically, the tombstone is held in by a pull pin, so you might be able to just use it. But I wouldn't advise it. Best bet is to get a new one.

I thought about that and already tried it. I shot it outside without the latch and it shot once then the co2 started pouring out of it. Apparently the tombstone latch puts alittle forward pressure on the tombstone itself so when its plugged into the power tube, it keeps the o-ring inside of it still. I had to take my A5 apart and the o-ring inside the power tube had moved alittle, enough to make the co2 just run threw it.

Luckly though, I was looking through my bookcase for a book my friend needed to read during summer for school, and behold my missing tombstone latch was between two books on the 3rd shelf, it somehow flew 6ft across the room and 4 feet off the ground.

Before that, I was about to get my other tombstone latch out of my second A5, get some of my spare molding clay and those little plastic beads you melt to make some of those glassy window decoration things, and make a mold by just sticking the latch into the clay and making a perfect shape and then let the beads melt in the oven and let it takes the shape of the mold I made, but now I don't have too. YAY

Yeah, it's remarkable how far Tippmann internals can go. But if you think your A-5 is bad, be glad you don't have a pre-"Platinum" 98C. The front sight would fall out no matter what you do, and the springs in the trigger area (the sear spring in particular, it seemed) had a knack for shooting out of the marker and landing twelve feet away under the couch. Sometimes I wonder if Tippmann shouldn't have gone into business selling grenades, what with all the shrapnel that comes flying out of a 98 when you pull the receivers apart.
