So about six months ago I'm looking for a paintball gun. I'd never owned one before, and didn't know what to look for. I saw the Brass Eagle Raptor at Gart Sports and decided I wanted to buy it because it was a semi, and all chrome. Looked good on the outside, but not great on the inside.
The first time I used this gun it worked great. It shot accurate and it shot hard. Then a ball broke. Maybe my 20th shot. I cleaned the gun, put it away.
About a month later my dad asked me to shoot some squirrel nests out of the trees because they were making a mess all over our lawn. I thought 'heh, good target practice' because these nests were at the top of large oak trees. So I'm going to town on these squirrel nests, take one down, then go for the larger and much higher one. Just going to down *thwap thwap thwap*. My neighbor comes across the street and watches, thoroughly impressed.
Then something goes wrong. CO2 and paint start spewing out the end of the gun. Damn thing is shooting and sounding like an automatic on crack. I look at the gun, perplexed. I clean it, load back up the paint and the CO2, try again - same thing happens. At this point I thought something is seriously wrong. I clean it, and put it away.
The next day I take it to Warpaint, a local indoor paintball place owned by Warpig. They take a look at it, explain to me that one of the cocking mechanisms is broken and that it's a manufacturing defect. I ask them if they carry any parts for the Raptor. They tell me that they don't carry any parts and no one else around does because "Brass Eagle sucks." I ask them why and they say because they are very high maintenance and break often.
I talk to Gart Sports, they say they won't accept the gun back because it's been used and opened. I consult the warranty to find I cannot recieve my money back for the Raptor, Brass Eagle will only replace it with the same gun. I decide not to replace my gun with a new Raptor because it will probably only break again. End of story. Don't buy Brass Eagle unless you have money to waste, because why buy a Brass Eagle when you could have spent your money better on something more durable.
