Hi everyone,
I recently purchased an E-Trigger for my 98C Pro and I didn't realize it has programming features such as setting the Dwell, Debounce, and ROF. Does anyone know the limitations for the highest ROF or if there's a chart available for setting the Dwell and Debounce? Any help would be appreciated because I've never had experience programming one of these things. Thanks.

IIRC, the WAS board tops out at 30 bps, which is WAY more than you need. The circuit isn't complex enough for the dwell to affect the maximum ROF. To set the dwell for maximum efficiency, use the lowest setting you can that still trips the sear. For debounce, leave it alone unless you are getting multiple shots per trigger pull in semi-auto.
I've never messed with any of those settings in a Tippmann, basically because they almost don't need to be adjustable. The only reason they've allowed you to move those setpoints at all is to accomodate for extreme (and probably unique) conditions. The idea behind the programming is, "These settings work in 95% of conditions, but just in case the customer has an oddball, we should make it adjustable".
I advise you use the same concept that you use in any piece of machinery: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If the marker is working and you aren't seeing any hiccups, you don't need to go screwing with it, cuz you might make it stop working.

The WAS board is what Tippmann is using now? I read something about it before, I think Tippmann bought the technology or something like that, but i don't know anything other than that. They don't list the limitations of the product other than the minimum settings. On the Website it says the E-Trigger can fire up to 17 BPS, but I know this one can be set higher than that. Is that the max capability of the other mechanics of the 98c?

It was a few years ago now that Tippmann acquired the rights to the WAS board. They even manufacture it themselves, if I'm not mistaken. Wicked Air Sports was about to go under, which would have left Tippmann without a board for their E-frames, so they took over.

I figured out how to program the thing finally. The instructions were a little vague, but I figured it out after screwing around a little bit just test firing with no air. Once I figured it out I finally got off my butt and filled a tank to test it. I was very happy with the results! Just for the hell of it I put it up to 22bps with my Rip Clip on it to see how it could handle the rate of fire, and I emptied a whole hopper with no chops or mis-fires. I worked out great. I'm sure it'll fire faster, but I haven't tried yet. =)

The part that really confused me was the programming section about the Firing Mode. I'm probably just a challenged kid, but I had no idea what it was for. Then I found out that its to set the default firing mode when you turn the gun on. So instead of starting on Semi, and clicking through the modes to the one you want, you can set it to any of the 5 firing modes. So for example when I turn on my E-Trigger, it defaults to 3-shot ramping. It works great once you figure it out haha.
