I was reading an ad in APG, 2 pages on Dye products and got to wondering: what is so great about the boomstick. It seems people kinda put it on a pedistal. I was wondering why it was so much $ (the stainless steel and the Dye name?) and how other barrels stacked up to it?

its nothing special... just a very nice 2piece barrel... that is quality, sure its nice if you only need one bore size, but MS systems are the way of the future... i have the 8in bizerk, and plan on getting the 10 in one too

i have always thought they were overrated and over priced. i could get a bizerk or a bigshot and autospirit for cheaper or the same price and be able to use different paints just as effectively. i am anti-boomstick as i feel the only reason people buy them is because they see "pros" using them, do you think they bought them? no, they get paid to use them and make other people think that they win because of the barrel

actually.. i see no upside to the average boomstick over a lapco.. its way heavier, its not LP and it costs 2x more

It is nice to know that not everyone idolizes them.

What are the MS( Multiple Switch?) and Bizerker?

boomstick barrels are usually overated by thoughs who dont wish to spend the money to buy one, when another barrel is just as accurate for a cheaper price. It's pretty much looks, it's the barrel that everyone wants to copy. Accuracy is great, but not much more accurate then any other barrel with a good paint match. I own one, and love it. Looks good, shoots straight... If you have the money, then why not.
