HELP ME PLEASE!
i just did a full auto mod. but how do i make my gun not chop so much paint? i mean, do i have to buy a motorized hopper or a powerfeed? is there some kind of mod i can do?

As far as I know, a motorized hopper is the best way to feed balls faster. With a full auto-mod, I reccommend you get the 12v Revolution with x-board. I think it's only $56 at www.countypaintball.com.

man... some of you people really dont think. LISTEN!
motorized hoppers dont really feed much faster than any regular gravity hopper. the reason is, the motorized hopper just agitates the balls, it doesnt push them down the hole any faster. but at faster rights of fire, chances are balls wont feed, this is where your motorized hopper comes into place, the thingy inside the hopper spins around and moves the balls so that the next one will fall into the gun. even though it is motorized IT STILL RELIES ON GRAVITY TO FEED.

IF you want to feed at faster rates, i suggest you get a warp feed. its actually shoves the balls into your gun, and it doesnt rely on gravity.

by the way, the full auto mod on your 98c is trash, you should take it off before you break your gun. with that mod, the gun goes thru its cycles WAYYYYYY too fast for ANY hopper to feed, and your going to chop paint like mad, plus your going to run out of air very fast too. just pull the trigger, or get RT, stop being lazy.

make a longer neck and do the powerfeed mod... First the longer neck, get a m&m's mini container or just a small tube big enuf to feed balls and well heres some pics.. this is what i'll do for rec play only. This will allow more balls to feed in, about 10 at a time without a revy.

And for the powerfeed, just drill 2 holes or one big one (not too big) in the elbow on your tippmann, this will alow the Blow-back air to escape through the holes and, it wont blow the balls back up into the hopper... this may or may not be a necessary mod, try placing a peice of paper or toilet paper on the elbow, dry fire, if the sheet is blown off, you should consider the mod.

Surreal, don't insult my intelligence. I know that the motorized hopper still uses gravity to feed the balls, and I also know that the motorized hopper makes it so that the balls actually go into the feed. I've put balls into my regular hopper, and then turned it so that they would fall out the feed: took a long time and I had to shake it to get the balls out. With my revy, my hopper was empty in less than 20 seconds. Maybe the terms "feeding faster" is technically incorrect, but it is close enough to what the hopper actually does to easily describe it.

Surreal, the Halo is force feed there guy.

Why did you suggest a Warp Feed (which you shouldn't, obviously this guy is trying to not buy something expensive but rather do a simple modification)? That still relies on the hopper to feed to it. So even with a Warp Feed, he's STILL going to have to shake the damn thing. Otherwise he'll have lot of blank shots.
The Halo can be purchased here and there for about 110-115 bucks, over 50 bucks cheaper than a warp and no need for another purchase of a hopper to go with it. Feeds just as fast as a Warp Feed, soon actually faster.
And the company that is going to make the Halo feed faster/better is also making their own hopper. Wicked Air Sports. They're making a motorized hopper as well. Also force-feed.

Now what modifications can you do to help feed faster. Well... not much. A powerfeed can help slightly. If wanted, get a Lapco Direct Feed. With that, drill a couple holes in it, then file them smooth (to not cut balls). That will turn that into a form of powerfeed.

Another thing to do is combine that with what already posted. However, not as dramatic. But make a high-rise type of feeding system. I'd say only 1 inch though, not the entire thing shown.

I would say to get a Electric hopper.
Or if you wanna ghetto paintball :P use the M&M Tube.

the full auto mod for the 98c isn't practical! it is mearly for play. it is cycling at like 2000rpm!! i dont know of anything that feeds that fast. my friend and i have tried to slow down the cycle rate with rubberbands on the trigger around the rear sight, but it still fed to fast for his 12v.
if u wanna shoot faster, spend $80 on an RT, and $50 on a 12v, or get a 2x trigger for $20 and take out ur trigger spring:).
and also, if u dont wana do any of than, do what shazaam said, drill two or three holes in ur feed elbow. it releases the pressure. i have never chopped a ball in the 3 months i've had my gun.

*rubber bands around the cocking handle and around the front sight. we have even hooked up a vacuum and put it into reverse! still didn't work.

Well, this is techniqually correct and techniqually incorrect.
The Warp feed does actually feed the balls faster then what a hopper will feed, but only for the first 20 or so balls. You see, it will feed all the balls that are in the warpfeed and its tubes at 20+bps, but as soon as those balls are out, then yes, its feed rate depends on the hopper attached to it. Basicaly the warpfeed will speed up your burst shots, but wont do a thing if you play spray and pray. (haha, I like that line!)

No, a Halo can keep up with it, actually. The Warp has been tested to feed consistently at around 16bps.
And the Halo can easily feed 18bps.

So if one has a really big budget, and wants a double force feed system off the top of your gun so you can unload a whole hopper no problem... there's your answer.

I suspect that when you say "I just did a full auto mod" that you mean anything other than "I installed the E-Bolt into my marker".
This is why you're chopping balls. The bolt is cycling way too fast, and depending on what you actually did, may not even be cycling the full distance. I would be very surprised if there was anything you could do, for any amount of money, that would stop a "home-modified" full auto M98 from chopping balls, except of course for buying an Ebolt and an electronic hopper.
