Hey Everyone,

I am seriously considering a major gun upgrade. I have narrowed it down to the Black Magic Autococker and the Bob Long Intimidator, and I was wondering which one you guys think is better. I know they are completly different guns (semi vs. electro) but any insight you can offer would be great. I currently own a tricked out Shutter, but there is only so much you can do to a Spyder. It will never be great.

Thanks

The Black magic is fugly so get the Bob long.

ok 133+ paintballer is an idiot it depends on wat u want speed accuracy lightness . the timmy's faster but its also bigger taller and heavier the cocker is more mantience but its lighter more compact and more accurate u can make a black magic faster than a timmy with the right frame (hinge) so i would recomend the black magic :)

I don't think you can make a cocker faster than an electro unless you add one of those electronic upgrades. Even with a hinge it will be slower, there are just too many moving parts. I would get the timmy because of the anti-chop eye. That alone makes it worth getting to me.

i personally would get the timmy, it has good accuracy, though not as good as the cocker, but it aslo has an anti chop eye, cool look, and is super fast.

The blackmagic is lighter? Holy crap batman have any of you ever actually held an intimidator or are you just going "it looks like... uh... like kind of big in the picture so it's probably like... pretty heavy and stuff". The Intimidator is alot lighter than most guns. Actual weight is 2.8 pounds, putting it at less than the blackmagic is

That rant aside, the intimidator is faster, the intimidator won't chop, and the intimidator is equally as accurate as the blackmagic. Only reason you'd choose a blackmagic in terms of performance would be it's efficiency, nothing touches a cocker when shots per tank are an issue.

Otherwise, on pure performance the intimidator wins hands down

even with a hinge frame or even an electro frame a cocker will never be as fast as an electro simply because it takes longer for a cocker to cycle, it has more things to do. i personally am really into cockers now because they are all mechanical so if something goes wrong on the field, it can most likely be fixed. while if you are on the field and a board fries you are pretty much screwed. i also do honestly feel that cockers have better treajectory although an intimidator set up nice could be just as accurate (or possibly more depending how the markers are set up) since you have to buy a reg for the timmi, you will have a nice inline (assuming you purchase a good one) as opposed to the stock BM reg which isnt all that great. if speed is a big factor for you, go for the timmi. i personally would get the BM though since i am anti-electro after my last marker (bushy) had a board problem on the field one day.

I'm not dumb just so sure of my opinions it appears so. If i don't really like the look of a gun their is no way i would buy it. unless i would get the gun re anodized adding another 200 bucks that i would not have. And Just Cuz i said sumtin was fugly doesn't mean it's not an extremly upgraded fugly gun :)

there is more to a marker than looks, though most people like to have nice looking guns (me included) performance should be more important (or in there somewhere). i think cocker kid called you an idiot because you said the timmi is bigger taller and heavier and that the bm can be faster than a timmi, which is not true. there is no way any cocker will be faster than a timmi. the person on the trigger is a big factor too . . .

Actually, cocker boy is the one who made the "fantasy land where cockers are the lightest and fastest guns" statement

It can't :)

It can't.

I had a BM and decided I wanted an electro and not a cocker. I'm thinking about getting an intimidator.

low cocking pressure
fast
Anti-chop eyes
lcd

Also, does an Intimidator have a game timer?

Omega6_Virus

yeah, but its only set to like 5 min intervals and all. plus, it doesnt have a warning thing when the time goes down.
As for accuracy, its all paint/barrel match.

5 minutes? I'm pretty sure mine can be set to 1 minute intervals, dunno I never use the game timer, or shot counter, or... hey I never use my LCD :confused:

You guys have given me a lot of valuable info. I am leaning toward the Intimidator right now, but would still like to hear more from the Black Magic side. Or maybe the Intimidator just Intimidates all those cocker people :P Just Kidding:D

Thanks for your help.

I know looks isn't everything but the BM is so Fugly i just don't think i could bring myself to by it.

Excalibur. Viking.

The Black Magic is pretty cool though. They're quiet stock, come with a regulator, have a nice regulator angle, are a proven design and have a sexy backblock. I'm basing my opinions on an STO as I've never fired a Black Magic and they are almost identical.

EDIT: Also, you don't have to worry about electronics.

A Revenge V2 still gets substantially more shots than any of AKAs electros. I stand by my original statement :P

As much as I like cockers, I say the Timmy. End it at that.

I've never used an Intimidator but I own a Black Magic. MOST(like 90%)of the paintballers around the world would say the Black magic looks better. 133+player is one of the 10% that thinks its ugly(or Fugly?). I have a Eclipse Blade hinge trigger on mine and I can shoot faster than a stock Impulse. I haven't had 1 single problem with my cocker. I have played against an Intimidator, and I thought it was ok. It didnt chop or break and it shoots fast, but its the same deal with my cocker. Heres a breakdown of the two guns in me and my two buds opinions.

Shooting speed-
Black Magic(With Eclipse hinge)= 85%
Intimidator=95%

Accuracy-
Black Magic=98%
Intimidator=85%

Looks-
Black Magic=100%
Intimidator=85%

Maintanance-
Black Magic=78%
Intimidator=90%

Okay, Accuracy, its ALL PAINT TO BARRLE MATCH. I cannot stress that enough. sure, cockers may be more accurate than most other stock guns, but thats another story.
Looks, its all about opinion. We try to give people just the facts.
Maintanence, take care of the gun, it will take care of you. It keeps the gun working order.

Dude the Revenge V2 is sooo a cocker, observe...

Worr Game Products makes the STO Autococker
Splat Attack makes the Revenge V2 Notacocker

And yes I realise it's all AKA internals, but it's still more efficient :P

And besides, I consider it a cocker, just like Spyders and Piranhas are basically the same.

And I am aware of the V2s inline design, it's still a cocker though :P

Me too. They are almost identical in design.

I was expecting you to pummel me with facts about how other high end cockers are more efficient but you didn't so I'm happy :)

I personally have not shot either, but if you are a back player I would consider the black magic; if you are a front player I would consider the timmy. I would try both out and see which feels better to you.
