I don't know seems kinda simple..... might be cooler if you got a picture of a player playing in black and white and used it as a back drop and then used smaller colored print
I think an interesting picture always draws more attention
but yet your design does get the point across just my 2 cents

What are you going to be using it for? a billboard? website? business card?

If it is going to be in print form, then I guess it is ok. I would personally drop some shadows and make the edges of the text and splats a little more defined. If you are going to put it on a website. I would make it appear more 3-d, solar flares are usually add a cool appearance.
