My Step- bro has a pro-carbine. I was wondering if there is anyway to take the barrel out WITHOUT having to take off the shroud. Its such a pain for him when were in the middle of a game and he brakes a ball in his Dye Stainless barrel (which is a huge pain to clean). So are there any mods that he could do to help this? Thanks

I have a J&J Ceramic and it isn't a flush barrel all the way down, so what I did is sand the inside of the shroud down so that the barrel slides through at it's thickest point... It works for me... you should try it...

OR

you can check out www.procarbine.com and he just cut the shroud off so that the grip portion was gone and the cartch and neck were still attatched... just look at his pics and mods and you'll see what I mean...

What is the shroud? Is it the plastic thing on the barrel that looks like a pump arm? I don't think the gun i bought came with one. It doesn't have to be on does it?

well, it has the feed neck on it... so it's a vital part of the gun... you sure you're not talking about the M98, rather than the pro/carbine...?

you should just be able to loosen the barrel pinch bolt, look at a schematic, and screw the barrel off. dont know why it would get stuck. itf for some reason it is....
