OK, I got all my stuff for the LP setup...only thing that is a problem is the damn turbo valve. I dont' wanna go putting it in things it isn't supposed to go into, so could someone clarify to me what im supposed to do with it?

I got the Kingman turbo valve, and I have a tl+ (see description).

thanks.

First strip down the gun, remove the bolt, velocity adjuster, main spring, and striker. Then you have to take off your trigger assembly, remove the two allen head bolts that hold it on, and have to remove your A.S.A. This is done by removing the other Allan head bolt that is on the bottom of the gun right if front of where the grip frame used to be. When you pull off the A.S.A. a valve spring, cupseal, guide, and a valve pin will also come out with it. Now you can remove the valve body, you do this by taking out the brass screw that was covered up by your grip frame. Once the screw is out, push the valve body out with somthing that won't scratch your internals. Push it out from the backside, it will only go one way because there is a pin across the bottom tube that the valve body rest against. Now put your new turbo valve in the same way, slide it against the pin, and install the brass screw so the the head is flush with the bottom of the body, not all the way in. Now you can replace your valve pin and cupseal if you got new ones (you should have gotten a pin that has 2 flat sides instead of one, and a new cupseal). Install everything in the same you you took it out, and bolt the A.S.A. back on. Now you can bolt your grip frame back on, and hook up your reg and gas lines. Finally reinstall the bolt, striker etc. and you should be ready to go. You might hear a small leak coming from the valve at first but this is because the cup seal needs to get broken in. Fire the gun a few times and leave it gased up for a little bit to set it.

I dont' think NOT knowing hwo to do something should be a reason not to do it. You have to learn sometime. I want to go LP. I think getting a new valve is an incremental step in doing so.

Until now, I've never had a reason to take the old one out. Now I do. His description will help me figure it out, then I'll know.

...and knowing is half the battle.

im just saying it would be smart to buy somethin and actually knowing what to do and how to put it in your gun

yeah, it would be smart. But, then I'd have to know everyting to by anything. I bought my first motorcycle w/o knowing how to ride, why should paintball be any different?

To tell the truth, until I got it, I didn't know I'd have to take it apart at all. My understanding was that it went into the LP chamber somehow ... so I thought'd be easy.

I was wrong :)

I give him credit for asking and getting an idea of how to do it before he attempted. There is nothing wrong with asking for help, he knew he wanted a turbo valve installed so why not purchase one? Last resort he could have brought it to an airsmith if he hadn't been able to find out how to install it himself so it's not a big deal.

I think you read a little too much into my question. I did do research, I did know it'll fit my gun. Think about it, it's a Kingman International Turbovalve made for spyders...it will fit my gun.

I'm not a retard. I know most things about my gun, including what will and won't work in it. I just wanted a little help making sure I didn't mess anything up (I can't afford to replace things for stupidity) so I'd get it right the first time.

I did not want someone assuming I just bought the first thing that said turbo on it. Just because my nick says newbie next to it doesn't translate to *******.

LOOK PAL......you have to learn sometime.....and what better way then to jump in with both feet...

GOOD JOB on the break down of the marker ...

One IMPORTANT FACT.....the valve body goes in with the smaller hole to the back and the larger hole to the cup seal side...

Intatallation of the valve body bacwards will cause a major leak.and possiballe valve body damage if fired with the valve in backwards......

OK, I took the gun apart, put the turbovalve body in...now, first question...where the cupseal goes into the spring, there is a metal X type thing....does that go or stay? I left it in cause you didn't mention it, but I can take it out if it shouldn't be there.

I am gonna polish my bolt and striker tomorrow. I have heard of people polishing the inside of the gun...do I need to do this?

I have an AKA/LMP Lightnign bolt...do I need to polish it? it is black, so if I polish it, it'll take the black off...is that what I want to do?

That metal X thing you were talking about is the guide, and you still need that. It goes on the back of the cupseal between the seal and the valve spring, the same way it was on the old one.
You don't need to polish the inside of your gun, it helps but is not neccessary. You also don't need to polish your bolt. You will see some wear on your bolt, like you have on your stock one, in the area of the feed port if you don't polish your internals, but it won't hurt any. If you can take some metal polish and try to get the top tube of your gun atleast so it won't scratch the bolt too badly. Again do this if you can, its not a must though. If you really want to polish your internals search some other threads on this site and they will give you really good step by step instructions. --good luck with it
