I would like to know the accuracy of the flatline at diferent ranges.
Please tell me what the size of the groupings are including at its maximum range.

I would email Tippmann to find out this information. They may have something like this on hand. This would take a lot of work for the average paintball player to figure out plus a lot of different paint.

Well i dobt if you e-mail a company asking how accurate their "long range accurate" barrel is that the tests may be a little bias with any company. But all i know about the flatline is you HAVE to use marbalizers otherwise the break 1/5

Thanks for the suggestion, but like 133+ Player said you can't trust the company to not be biased on the issue.

Maybe I will ask them... just to see what they say.

I normally shoot Diablo Blaze or Inferno. Are you saying they wouldn’t work well in the flatline?

If anyone know the flatline's groupings at different ranges please tell me because I would like to know. Even If you conducted your own test or read another test elsewhere, it would be very helpful.

i actually own the flatline. its the best. I usually shoot PMI premiums not marbs. they work great.
Short range- today i was at my field and decided to test the accuracy. I was about 30-40 feet away and i shot at this tree thats about 2 inches wide. 6 out of the 7 snots landed on top of each other and the 7th missed by an inch or two.

Long distance- this is where the flatline shines. at 150ft i can maintain an average shot grouping of a little under 2ftx2ft. Today I nailed this kid twice from 200 ft threw a very narrow opening in the trees.

The flatline is the best barrel i've ever seen(tru-flights,zero-gravity,stealth,boomers) If your a speedball man this isnt for you, I've tried this and its just to hard to tuck or manuver with this. If you ever here anybody say that this barrel is inaccurate or chops to much paint, they are either idiots and didn't install it right or they just suck and need an excuse.

The flatline isn't really acurate... it's backspin the backspin does it it'snnot the barrel any barrel thats puts backspin will preety much be accurate.

How many other barrels are there that put back spin on a ball? I only know of the flatline...so doesn't that make the flatline barrel responsible for putting backspin on a ball and therefore being a more accurate barrel?

Anyhow, I got a flatline not long ago and I just tried to site mine in. Windage I've got down (no problems left to right), range though, oddly enough, is. I think I've got two strikes against me and I wanted to run it by some folks with experience. First off, I just got a remote line for my gun and the connector between the tank and the hose doesn't have any tread tape on it, so it's leaking like nothin' else. I went though a mostly filled 12 oz bottle in like 10 mins and I only shot off less then 100 rounds. So I figure my gun might not have been getting enough air. My second problem I think may be the type of paint I'm using. I bought a tube of Diablo Dusk at Walmart and they seem like a half decent ball, but I was wondering if it was too small a bore ball for the flatline. I can roll them in and out the front of the barrel without any trouble. Any thoughts or recommendations?

if you play speed ball then i wouldn't recommend the flatline at ALL, it sux for speedball, but if u play lots o' woods then GET IT.....IT ROX AT WOODS, yesterday at this large field my friend and i had a firefight...but I was out of the range of his dark raider but he was in range of my flatline so i just stood up in this field just blastin away at hyim and his bunker.....he came out completely pink....from head to toe!!! it was hilarious!!:agree: :agree: :agree: :freak:

get an airsmith to put some loc-tite teflon tape on ur remote - asa connection to see if it fixes the leak, and as for paint.....DONT buy it at walmart unless they r selling like JT maxim or some really good paint.....(which i doubt)...... and as for the flatline, mine works well with every kind of paint, except for this stuff i had for like 2 years...  , like every 3rd shot would chop, and the ones that didnt chop would do fricken corkscrews and spin outa control!!! haha...but that was the last day i used my tippy, NOW i got a sweet impy!!! WOOT!:agree: :agree: :biglaugh:

the flatline in my opinion, is a horrible barrel, the thing puts back spin on the ball, it may make it more accurate and defentally makes it go furhter, but the balls go sooo fricken slow, usually a person doge out of the way......if they are paying attention

Then why have I been able to clock my paint as going out at 250 or higher (I actually had it well over 300 at one point and it wasn't chopping paint to my surprise) on a chrono if they are so slow? Doesn't that imply that the paintball is moving at the same rate of speed as any other paintball from any other marker that is clocked the same speed?
:confuse:
By the way, you can dodge any paintball if you have time to react. Since you can shoot a marker with a flatline from a further distance, Yes, if you see the ball coming, you can get out of the way. An easy way a few of the people I've played with have found around this problem is to use a dark shell paintball. They are a hell of a lot harder to see coming.
Cris, I am going to try and get my remote fixed up here soon. I'm hoping that'll fix my troubles. Thanks for the responce!:) And Cris, your story reminds me of the beginning of Judge Dredd when he's asking why the other Judges are ducking from gun fire when the badguys are out of range. I love that scene!

ya, but to get the same fps on a flat line you have the turn up the volocity alot more, making alot more ball breaks

I won't argue with you there, but all you need it a better paintball. Use Brass Eagle or Viewloader and you'll chop paint all day. I haven't had a chance to experiment yet with what paint I'll use, but as I stated earlier, Wal-mart is selling Diablo Dusk paint for a decent price. Someone wrote a review for it I think in this forum under (surprise!) 'Diablo Dusk.' I intend to use it for experiementing only right now since they only come in a half white have red shell. Real obvious, which is great for tracking the ball when making adjustments. I'm going to need something else though for game time though. Do you have any suggestions as to what paint I should use Sr. Lapiz? Are the Midnight's any good?

i have had the best experiences with Hellfire, Marbs, and Big Ball.....if you are looking for a cheaper paint that still works good i recommend the big ball, it works great in my barrel!:D :agree: :agree: :agree:

Thats not true... if u know how to put your barrel on right, ( i dont understand all the people that cant do that) which was very easy!! it will shoot pretty much any paint, i shot about 50 of each today(150 total)...(i just got the barrel today) and only 1 break when i used Brass eagle top brass. I shot zap sport series and normal crappy brass eagle, and they both shot good, Well decent. I'm gonna order some RPS big ball, they are said to work well in flatline and are cheap.
