Who's in the Toronto area?

Just wonderin who on this message board lives near TO. I'm thinkin it may be cool for everyone to get together at area 51 for a few games a couple weeks from now (I'm buyin a freak, gotta save up till then, one more paycheck :) ). Gimme a shout if anyone lives near the GTA and if you think it'd be cool to get a game going

I'm in Markham.. But I'm also a veritable n00b... Got a couple of games under my belt but thats about it...

But I'm also a heavy smoker and a lazy overpaid computer / network worker and as a result, slightly outta shape.

So while in my present form, I am basically glorified bait and cannonfodder... 6'5" tall.. 250 lbs.. not exactly a small profile target..

But without a doubt I think playing PB is easily one of the most fun and stress relieving activities around.. (when I'm not suffering from a split seam on my lungs or an impending aneuryism / heartattack from physical exertion.)

I do have my own equipment though...

Well, I live in the Montreal area and I think it would be cool for us to meet at the largest paintball field in Canada, which is Bigfoot-paintball :)

I'm in Barrie, bout a good hour or so from Toronto. I'd come out there..if I had a gun!! Sold it at badlands (www.badlandspaintball.com) last year and haven't been able to pay for a new one. I think I found a solution, I call it Ebay, lots of sweet deals there. I've been playin since I was 10, I'm almost 16 now.

elTwitcho smells ;), you know I'm up in the GTA and also am on your team, hmmmm I havent gotten to go up to AREA 51 yet is it any good? In a month or so? It sounds great I'll have my imp by then (this is my setup Black impulse, Black gadget grip, Black Pre Be Revy (already have it), 68ci crossfire fiber wrapped and a black rase tank cover. Im going to keep her all black so itll look sweet.

Refs that will actually do paint checks and can monitor the entire game and make the calls
Speedball setup, with the field about the size of the skyball field (woot skyball)
Surface is pebbles, so it's soft enough that you wont hurt yourself, but wont fuch up your gun like sand will
Netted areas allow you to watch game from sidelines
Did I mention it's speedball?
Very well lit, no dark areas
Games are usually short and sweet
Lots of smaller bunkers, that you've gotta play from a crouch
Nice big firing lanes

So far we got axion, Nem, me, and maybe blake (blake, the rentals aint bad, they're titans on Compressed air systems from air america). yes you read that right, compressed air on rental guns :)

That's great. It'll be a couple of weeks before we go (1-3) but it'd be great if all of you guys showed up. It's a really great field, so I look forward to playing with you guys. Once I get my paycheck (Thursday) we'll discuss what monday to go on. It has to be monday, because monday is half price day, and that goes a long way when you gotta buy alot of paint :)

I work in Toronto / Markham all week, but I am usually up in Peterborough with my Fiancee and / or playing outlaw PB in some woods / fields on weekends...

I am into the half-price thing too.. I need all the breaks I can get... I played pump for awhile and it was alright.. I bought a semi because I figured I could still shoot as slow as I wanted to.. But even with a stock Outlaw I started going through a helluva lot of paint...

But then again.. The only field in Peterborough really sticks it to ya up the tailpipe...

20 oz CO2 fill = $12
Field Fees = $15
Paint (32deg Team Colours (yuck)) = .10 per ball x 400 = $40

So it all adds up pretty good...

Area 51 doesn't have a pro shop onsite does it?

Yeah they do, but it's still gettin set up, so their selection is very very basic. As for A51 prices, check this out (these are monday prices)

Paint, 7.50 for 100 of Diablo blaze
Nitro- nothing, it's free
Locker- Also free
Entry/admission/insurance- 5 bucks

It's pretty sweet actually. And like I said, rental gear is pretty good, titans on Compressed, and masks are those fancy new V-force ones, so I wouldnt complain a'tall :)

Whooooaaa Nelly (excuse the DRAMATIC entrance) that is a great deal. Is this field anywhere near Badlands Paintball? Monday you say? Hehehe, I got school (boo) but will probably be able to "twist" mom's ankle into letting me go (using force, NOT words!) I dunno, right now I'm all talk, I need more money! I only have $80 in the bank, and $2.54 in the piggy. When is a company gonna make a HUGE paintball (I'm talkin the size of a basketball) and make a HUGE launcher to go with it?? It'd be used to take out large pigs and/or drunk people. Think about it.

I heard a couple people around here mentioning that they are getting Freak Barrel systems.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but I think the best price I have seen around here is $374 and up...

Money is no problem for me... I am luckily one of the fatcat type employees in the IT industry...

I do hard work sometimes, but generally I just get paid a lot to be a contigency in case of an emergency and to surf the net on company time.

Luckily, what I surf for and what I do are so closely related that it might actually be viewed *AS* work so I am extra lucky there...

That'd be good too... I have my new barrel coming too.. 14" Blue CP for my Bruizer... Its the only blue anodized barrel I could find that was even somewhat reasonably priced that still had decent reviews, that was in stock anywhere...

Either way it absolutely has to be better than the pile of crap stock 10" and 16" CMI Tru-Flight Thunderpig barrel I have been using. The CMI is acurate, but god help you if you have a barrel break...

Another thing ticking me off... most PB stores in Canada suck.. I ordered a JT nVader mask and 4+1 harness from paintballmayhem on April 12th. They claim it is still in transit from *their* supplier. So it is almost going on a full month...

Baaah...

That CP barrel (badlands) was the first item I have ever called about that someone actually had in stock and didn't have to order it in....

Damn, well I can't make it since I won't have a gun by then. GO, GO ON WITHOUT ME!! It would be nice to try to set up a game every month or so, by June I should (should IS the word here) have a gun. What are the prices for entry, field use, co2, paint and all the other goodies?

To rent is 20 bucks. That includes entry, PMI Titan running on Nitro, a pair of coveralls, V-force armor mask, 100 paintballs, and a locker rental. For those with guns, 5 dollar for air all night, and a locker. Paint for me was 7.50 for a 100, but that's half price day.

I'd rather not rent a gun just because it ruins my image:D but I'll come out sometime in June if I can, I think I'll be getting a job soon cause I made a SUPA good 1st impression on the boss of a sports store, plus I have friends at the store, yup yup. What day's are half off days for paintballs? When I go to the field I usually get a case of 1000 paintballs. If we all went together we should each pitch in $20 for a case of 2000. I bet there are a crap load of cadets there who think they're the ****e, I love to bash into them (I'm currently part time infantry- soon to be reg up in Petawawa). I'm probably heading up to Wasaga this weekend:)

Sweet, I live about 30mins from each field. I haven't been to the one near Borden but it sounds ok, they have HPA fills. It's kinda expensive, $15 to get in, $12/100 paintballs. As soon as I get my gun I'm heading out to Wasaga to test it out.
