i think those goggles look really cool. but i heard they dont cover your chin or jaw. i want answers from someone who has one. also, are the javas a lot crappier than the original ones? i like the charcoal/ red one...

Sorry I haven't replied sooner ... the Nuvis does cover your chin and jawline, at least mine, but leaves your throat and neck purty much open. I've always worn a neck protector and a head wrap that also covers my neck, so it's not that big a deal to me.

The Java line is less expensive. How much more, just depends on who you buy it from. I think the main difference between the two, the Java edition doesn't have the photochromatic lens, which means it doesn't darken in direct sunlight. The original Nuvis lens turns a grayish Amber in direct sunlight, it's not too dark, but dark enough to enhance contrast, it makes greens and blacks stand out more. Very nice touch. The lens is real sweet, very clear and sharp. Plus, Raven now ships a visor with the Nuvis.

my local shop sells the original raven for $69.99 with the visor. i also tried it on and its so comfortable. it stays on yer face even when its loose! it has so much more vision than my nvader. my nvader also sags my face down, but the raven doesnt. im gonna buy the black and gray one w/ the visor...

that's a good price. I paid a little more than $70 for mine at Big Boys Toys. I hope they come out with some colored lenses for them. I'd like to have a yellow or amber lens in mine.

I called RavenUSA today. Replacement lenses are available for the Nuvis and Java. Also, Raven is putting out a double lens Thermal and the standard single lens photochromatic.

Hopefully they'll update their Web site soon to reflect this.

Until then, you can order the replacement lenses by calling 1-877-GORAVEN.

I ordered a new single lens for my mask. It was $22 and some change, plus $5 for regular ground ship.

exactly ... They were really cool when I ordered my replacement ... I'd lost one of the plastic retaining pins, I told the sales rep about it, and they sent me four extras, plus new retention screws ... Very nice indeed. Plus, when I ordered mine, their computer was done, so they couldn't process the order for several days, so they sent the lens to me Second Day express, at no extra charge. Very, Very cool indeed.
